NSFs escape death by 15 minutes

JUST 15 minutes after the 19 full-time national servicemen (NSFs) got off the bus, it exploded.
The driver of the CNG-fuelled bus died from complications arising from his burns four days later, the coroner’s inquiry into his death in the August 2010 incident heard on Wednesday.
Mr Chan Beng San, 56, had picked up the group of NSFs from Jurong Camp 1 at 6.45am on Aug 13, 2010. He drove to the Poyang Range at Old Lim Chu Kang Road and the group alighted at 7.05am.
About 15 minutes later, the group, which had left some items behind in the bus, called Mr Chan’s mobile phone.
It was answered by someone in a panicked state who told them that the bus had exploded.

Loks like Singapore isn't ready for CNG buses yet. Heck, even the OC500LE CNG has issues. Several ones operated by Transperth blew up, including that famous demo unit 1854 as well as 1610. 1297 and 1889 were thankfully saved.

Uhm, not sure if anyone had realised, this was the previous accident in 2010. They reported it lately because the investigations into his death was done. Not another CNG bus exploding.

Correct. The same incident that prompted the authorities to recall all the remaining CNG coaches and subsequently converted into regular diesel ones.
The article also stated that the incident happened in August 2010.
