85 guides are out yesterday, but supposed to release today. Dated today also. No hangers as it is not under BSEP act.

Bro. that's not similar to "85# being withdrawn". It doesn't say that explicitly while it should be. I don't travel on 85 and it doesn't even interest me to joyride on it.

Ok. Sorry. Are you happy now? :)
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Nevertheless, I travelled once around that area and saw a huge number of HDBs coming up - especially on Anchorvale. I am sure in 2013 there will be new services or routes modified to ply Thanggam and Anchorvale St.
By then 85's loading will be even higher than now. But hopefully they can improve the frequencies soon.
Service 85
But actually not as bad as 113.
85 is useful to me when going to Jalan Kayu, Fernvale, Anchorvale, Rivervale Plaza and Punggol..
if going Punggol Road, Compass Point and Sengkang Int, i prefer taking 965..

965 frequency is so erratic. It says around 10 mins here, but in reality you have to wait for a good 15 mins for 965. I think for Sengkang, 85 still works better. For Punggol road, 965 might be a better option.

85 needs at least an 18 min wait. I waited 25 min b4

The loading on 85 also does not seem to be too high. May be that's why the frequency is kept at 15 min. Once the areas around Anchorvale, Fernvale develop, I am sure 85 will get good frequency and also a few DDs.
With 85 you know that it is one of the services, that does not have a good frequency. With 965 you anticipate the bus to come in time, but ends up making you wait longer.
I was hoping 85 from Sengkang-Yishun

What will happen to the Punggol residents? I don't think there is a direct bus service from PNG-YIS... other than 85...

Are you sure. Do you take this service everyday? In the morning i waited 965, its always 10mins. 965A will come 4mins later.
I've tried taking 85. Its more worst...
From Compass Point, 965 is better..

Agree.
Sengkang to Yishun via Punggol.

What about all those taking the bus at Sengkang East and Sengkang West Way? It will be a long detour to come to Sengkang as the bus will be for 20 mins in Punggol estates itself.
Distance and fare also increase. Does not make sense.

Yeah... ikr the 965 freq has been very unstable, like all other SMRT svc. Coz there are some chiongsters out there who just speed and come close to the bus before them, leaving the normal speed bus behind them to pick up the loads, and thus causing all that freq issues.
But still, the number of ppl boarding 965 at Sengkang Ctrl to Yishun is still much higher than 85. Why? Coz 965 skips Sengkang West and Jln Kayu. It gets onto the expressway before 85. And freq no matter how unstable it is, 965 is still sure to win. I asked a number of my neighbours around who works or shops at Yishun, they all would take 965. Some don't even know there is a svc 85 to Yishun. Nevertheless, who knows if 85 can be better than 965 in the near future in Sengkang Ctrl, as you have said so, due to the developments coming up like the hospital etc...

You are quite right. Actually, depends where you are in Sengkang. If you are closer to a stop where 85 calls, take 85 else take 965. The loading on 965 > 85, I just feel the frequency is erratic, but 85 also does not have a 10 minute frequency.
85 will do better when Anchorvale / Fernvale area develops.
85 Punggol-Sembawang Lor better
