Still no point le,4 rigids split shift..The one should be reroute or extend is 176/184 cause they got lotsa bendies
I wonder if 176 is going to park at the temporary bus terminal. It has to go one big round to go to the bus terminal from it's ending bus stop.
And what about 975??

maybe not since it involves two 'competing' operators... for SBST routes like 65 66 yes very possible but not 700 and 960 though might get fleet downgrades
I hope BPJ go back under SBST when DTL opens for business.

More like 171 & 180. Can merge into a new YIS-BNL route.
67 can cover 171 Upper Bukit Timah-Marina Centre portion, as there is 66 from Bukit Timah Plaza-Little India. 65 can cover 67 from Little India to TAM. Only 170 will stay as it is.
But then again, has there been any rationalisation for CCL yet? Maybe DTL open but no major bus service changes, as MRT serves to take the pressure off bus routes not to replace them.

well, 177 used to start from Bt Batok and then loop at Bt Panjang. history repeating itself
I rather hope they ament 700&960 somewhere rather than axe it,probably 700 from Shenton Way pass by MBS to Choa Chu kang?960 starts from Sembawang loop at Jln Anak Bukit?
Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Wa, so where are SMRT gonna park their buses in Boon Lay?
180 should stop using bendy buses and use the one in one out method to park their buses in Boon Lay Interchange. The most can give them 3 lots for their single decker fleets.
The only way is to make 172 & 187 loops there with more rest time at their respective Interchanges just like 965/966

They should bendy for peak hour only judging by the crowd at ITE CCK twds BNL. Off-peak i dun see a need coz rode it many times and i blive a single deck will be effective

700 Woodlands-Jln Anak Bukit?
960 Woodlands-Choa Chu Kang?
171 Yishun-Bt Panjang?

66, 700 and 960 for sure will be rationalized. 190 should remain as it is and will still be in high demand.

the thing is its useless to stop at bukit panjang. because the drivers dont take a break there either.

then peak hour crowd? make them sit on top of the bus ar

There is a thing called improving the frequency. One single decker in and another out would be more efficient and space saving for space limited Boon Lay interchange. Operate like 179 style.
If SMRTB cannot handle 180, then give to SBST to operate.

there's this thing called shortage of drivers too
Originally posted by dan474:there's this thing called shortage of drivers too
So you are saying that SMRTB has stopped recruiting drivers?
