i dunno
coz got 1 TV1 show it featured abt rapid Kuantan buses
one of the bus's EDS showed SCANIA K250UB
There's 250/280/320/360 Hp but euro IV leh
Scania has refreshed its engine range in March this year.
Countries outside of Europe apart from South Korea, Aust and NZ will now be limited to only a small range of engines regardless of Euro 3/4/5 emissions ratings.
In addition, Scania has also discontinued the use of EGR outside those area. SCR (AdBlue) will now be used instead on Scania engines to meet Euro 4 & 5 standards.
The 250hp engine for RapidKuantan is correct in this case.

Two types of Scania WABs will be used at the initial stage - Scania K270UB 12m ex-RapidKL and Scania K250UB 10m brand new from production line.
First batch of 5 K270UBs are already in Kuantan in preparation for the launch. Kuantan residents were given free rides from shuttle services provided during the weekend. The first K270UB were delivered to Kuantan a month ago for the press conference of RapidKuantan by the MB of Pahang.
The Scania K250UBs were part of the 80-units ordered by RapidPenang. Due to the "hurried" launch of the RapidKuantan, Prasarana decided to send the K250s to RapidKuantan instead, which the latter will receive at least 30 units. The buses are being assembled at Masdef with an updated Gemilang bodywork design. The first K250 will receive fleet tag/code of S351, continuing from the earlier batch of K270s for RapidKL. All buses under Prasarana will subsequently follow the same fleet tag/code for each chassis model.
SBST should get K250UB if they're keen on LE buses

They already have more enough K230UBs.
It will be better that SMRTB to get some Scanias with the L113s pharsing out. The K250UBs are a good choice for SMRTB.

do you think they want? scania's engine parts aren't interchangable with the oc/citaro and MAN's. furthermore their best performance bus is at 320hp and their lousiest performing at 285hp.

Today 1 BC telling me how sluggish the Citaro is.. comparing to Volvo… But funny thing, he never make any mention of Scania…
Only say Citaro no power…
Citaro are not as bad as you think. As a commuter, actually I think it is a powerful and comfortable bus.
Don't let the kids here affect your judgement. They don't worth it.

If you are not working for SMRTB, stop acting like you are one.

Maybe SMRT may consider the K360UA/UD?
Originally posted by sbst275:kids here haven’t even learn how to drive.. think driving is all about speeding and the power rating…
tell this to ppl outside, a laughing stock one time..
Like I said, if your really despo for powerful bus… ask SMRT to buy manual transmission buses…
MT? Metrobus of KL uses that. Most regional bus operators in Malaysia using MT as AT is found mainly in city buses (JB/KL/PG).
