Are we trying to make epic bumps so we can at least enlighten the solemn mood here?

Splitting the operations between the 2 companies will be a better option, bus/light rail for SBST and rail for SMRT. There won't be a conflict of interest for sure.As for the problem of the expensive hybrid system, seriously, it is either the way they managed (or the wrong way) which incurs more costs due to conflict of interests or LTA and PTC have been deceiving the general public.
NUS student union has just sent a letter to LTA, PTC to air the perplexing issue of expensive hybrid concession, and that was endorsed by the NTU and SMU counterparts.
Its something that students are unhappy over, especially how it contradicts the spirit of the distance-based fare.
$97/ mth is just ludicrous!

Well, I hope they will listen and not end up another episode like the poly student concession cards biased treatment.
Originally posted by vicamour:be better off managed by Sentosa instead since they have their own fleet of buses. RWS could also run these services since they have their own bus fleet too.
RWS8 is under RWS, not Sentosa itself. Profits goes to SMRT and RWS, not Sentosa, and I am not sure how much of that goes from RWS to Sentosa.

Like what I mentioned, let Sentosa and RWS handle the RWS services by themselves. SMRTB shouldn't even get involved in the first place and wasting their limited resources (BCs and buses) for these services.

RWS8 is a shuttle service by RWS, contracted to SMRT. Only $1 are collected from passengers. The other $1 is for the island admission fee.

SMRT trains are horrible too.
Thanks to the bastards there I feel like living in China not Singapore.
Look here - they are operating at a loss and yet they don't want to operate properly at the interests and habits of the locals. Just today, my nice morning was shattered by that fucked up voice of that whore, that cunt. The new PA system shows this is CHINA, not SINGAPORE. Old voice, no manners, dog voice saying Chinese station names after the English ones. No Malay or tamil, EVEN at their well-known places, such as Paya Lebar or Outram Park. Very multi-racial indeed.
Next - the PRC trains. C151A turned out to be the worst train I've ever taken out of all the SMRT fleet. Poor maintenance, terrible interior, and no distinct "smell" of SMRT. The doors keep jamming, and the train tend to travel at a really unstable speed. Cannot believe that SMRT still wants to buy PRC trains for their CCL. It may be that bit cheaper, but maintenance really is a problem. You see how MTR in HK inspect all China trains, claiming that China products always turn out "problematic".
I am very disappointed with SMRT. Already I am disappointed enough with the 2008 PA system, now this. I really miss the former MRTC, when TIBS still existed. Please, kick these PRC motherfuckers back to where they are from, or at least set a limit, and please bring back the old MRT!!!
Get your facts right first before people take you seriously.
SMRT is most certainly not making a loss.
Govt connected companies making loss? What a joke!
