Bukit Panjang used to have plenty of open land
Naah who wants a bus park in the middle of a housing estate
There's a huge-ass area over at Fernvale, near Sengkang. In case HGDEP runs out of space.
Also there's more space in the industrial estate around AMDEP, if AMDEP needs to expand.
BNDEP could have a sub-depot further east.

Sengkang will expand its housing estates...
I think one north area is good enough for Ayer Rajah,Amdep can expand or relocated in front of the depot,Alternative Yio Chu Kang Rd forest area also can..

For Sengkang to expand its housing estates, although encouraged, needs some balance, because right now the Fernvale area only has 163/163M serving it. They're building another direct route from YCK Rd to the TPE, and I was thinking of the Yio Chu Kang area in between the Jln Kayu area and the CTE. It gives a direct route to the CTE via YCK Rd for any new services à la 857.
TPE, CTE, shiok shiok seh. Could shorten down on routes that involve Jln Kayu like 168 or 858, as well as provide options for 857-esque routes for SBST.

Can build another level. :P
Jurong area no problem la,Penjuru also can.My best suggestion is the Jurong rd off Bt Batok Rd heavy vehicle park..Got potential for a 3 storey depot.BNL/BTM/HBF/Town area can be under their purview.
Tampines Road. the new industrial complex they building near PYL airport fire station that area. near the old Jln Telawi. now got new junctions all created.
can build Bus Park, depot HGDEP.

Haha that place I've seen before, sure it might fit a DEP, but if it were an expansion to HGDEP it might as well be a worthy expansion by probably doubling their sizes.

multi-storey lor.....
Sengkang, Punggol expanding like siao.
I feel SMRT should convert GL1 into a proper bus park and make it a sub bus park under AMDEP or at least build a bus park near the area (which is hard, lots of prime land)..... GL1 is closer to the city than AMDEP, important for svc like 106 and 190. 985 980 961 853 can probably be partial controlled by GL1. 67 969 some bus can park at GL1.

Unless they venture the land near Kallang Pico bldg then AMDEP can close shop. This depot can partial control 858,67,969,853,854,966,61,961,980,985,NR7,75,171,960,106,970,855,963,188,167,851,176 .But i dun feel so
It's possible, MIGHT happen, but probably won't, not for now.
With Punggol and Sengkang undergoing development an expansion or a new wing of HGDEP seems more important. Was thinking of the area behind the SBST NEL SKDEP to serve Punggol/Sengkang area. For management this would be strangely awesome. Also helps that the area already has a service servicing the area (163/163M).
Sengkang good idea but Hgdep currently it's best ardy
Sadly this is true but you can't rule out the possibility.
It would be good if HGDEP could handle Hougang, Eunos and Serangoon-based services and feeders, and leave Sengkang and Punggol to a possible SKBP. Of course, SKBP would be under HGDEP.
Radical idea, nonetheless, but HGDEP could help BNDEP with their own services. Probably Tampines. Ignore me if this is too ridiculous, though. :P
sengkang actually not that bad. build it beside the NEL department :P

Idea already given. =P
Living in the east, I'm not so sure about the situation in the west - does SLBP or BBDEP require expansion?
Overview so far for SBST:
AMDEP: Might require expansion. Possible locations for new wings are:
1) In the same industrial estate as the original AMDEP,
2) Somewhere located in between the CTE and Jalan Kayu
HGDEP: Definitely requires expansion. Possible locations for new wings are:
1) Next to SBST NEL SKDEP.
2) Paya Lebar area.
BNDEP: Probably not. But could be moved further east if HGDEP expands.
BBDEP/SLBP: Probably might need expansion. Possible location for new wing:
1) Off Bukit Batok Heavy Vehicle Park
Overview so far for SMRT:
AMDEP: Possible new location:
1) Conversion of GL1 to a BP
2) Kallang area
KJDEP: Possible new location:
1) Mandai Rd, near Bukit Panjang
WLDEP: Probably no need? Woodlands area is freaking huge anyway.
Wldep need expanding if they start using DDs,The old one have to be relocated,If new one capacity is only 300 is aint enough.Wldep need at least 500 lots.Mandai near Bt Panjang is under planning while dun rule out Bt Batok Rd near the heavy vehicle park(Jurong Rd where 174 turn)also.AMDEP can built along Yio Chu Kang forest area where 854/857 2nd bus stop is)Or simply relocated just infront of the depot itself.Single lane rd queing up buses going to depot is dangerous along AMK st 64.Hgdep no need expand cause only Serangoon ctrl/Hougang Ctrl/Sengkang/Punggol beside Sims Pl and Lor 1.Eunos i predict will be under the Bndep once the new Upp Changi Bus Park complete. You will see a lot of depot redeployment then.I'm not surprised if 13 dual depot with Bndep or 161 goes full Amdep.
This is provided SMRT goes for DDs anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the current situation with most of those routes that SMRT runs aren't suitable for DDs...? They'll have to fix the DD situation before doing anything about the depots or bus parks.
