That is probably the first time I've ever boarded a double decker on 139...
SBS9847R on 139 (Notice the white desto infront)
You want to take photo and the other passengers keep on staring at you...
The upper deck, which I would gladly prefer.
Someone suggested of removing this thingy at the middle and replacing it with a wheelchair ramp, thus converting it to a WAB bus?
SBS9847R is one of the very few double deckers which operate on perm 139. Nevertheless, it does play an important role. During the peak hours when all its K230UB friends are overly packed with passengers, these DDs are able to carry as much passengers to the maximum.
Apparently, this bus has been fitted with the LECIP EDS, which we believe will continue to last for the next 7 years or more of the B10TL's lifespan. The B10TL is also a more uncommon double decker in SG but yet provides a good, cool, comfortable ride for all passengers.
And better pray that these seats do not get replaced like how SBS9889U did!

Great photo-story.
What time did you take the bus? I often see DDs on 139 empty. I think the high loading of this route is 139A route. Other part of route can be managed by KUB. Am I right?

I don't think so that the seat covers will be replaced like those on SBS9889U as it is not unique since the Volvo B10BLE/CNG, Scania L94UB and Dennis Trident also uses these type of seat covers. I even saw a new set of seat covers on SBS9848M/SBS9849K (can't remember which) months ago.

A few rules for the club.
1. Post pictures of self taken buses
2. Pictures should be only from SG buses unless there is a new model introduced in another city that you would like to show (eg: one during London Olympics)
3. No discussion on bendies / SDs here
4. No flamewars (if you don't do 3, 4 will not happen)
5. Edited pictures is fine but along with pictures, please add description also like the photo-story given by SBS8501U on svc 139

Anyway, thanks! Boarded this bus like about 5:15pm.
P.S: On my return trip to Little India at approximately 7:30pm a Leyland Olympian (right?) was spotted at Thomson Road doing 139A

- 13. False deployments/suspected deployments of DDs is a serious crime and might lead to confussion.
Punishment for breaking the rules- 1. Non-self taken photos even if taken by family members. is also a crime.
- a) Banned from this thread with a minimum of 8 days to a maximum of 30 days.
- b) If serious enough, you will be excluded from this thread permanently.
- c) Penal Code: DDBFCO 12a for offence A/12B for offence B)
- 2. Pictures of non-SG buses might be an insult to us except when those buses are newly introduced(ONLY FOR SELF-TAKEN)
- a) If you're caught red-handed of posting pictures of DDs from other countries(exclude China) will be banned from a minimum of 10 days to a maximum of 45 days.
- b) If you're caught red-handed posting photos of DDs from China posted here you will be excluded permanently!
- c) New models of bus' pictures which you stole. Liable for 2 counts of offence charge with DDBFCO 41a and DDBFCO 23c.
- d) Penal Code: DDBFCO 23a for offence A/23B for offence B/23C for offence C
- 3. Any discussion of bendies/SDs will be punished
- a) Banned for 30 days
- b) If you're discussing about SDs/bendies from china, excluded permanently
- c) Penal Code DDBFCO 32a for offence A and 32B for offence B.
- 4. Flamewars and riot will be punished severely.
- a) Admins will view what the flamewar/rioting is about. Banned for a minimum of 65 days to 100 days or excluded permanently.
- b) Flamewars with vulgarities will be charged with two to three offences. DDBFCO 42b, 62a and 62b.
- c) Penal Code DDBFCO 42a for offence A and 42b for offence B

- a) Minor offence. Posted less than 3 photos. Banned for 7 days.
- b) Severe offence. Between 3 - 10 photos. Banned for 15 days.
- c) Major offence. Over 10 photos. Excluded permanently.
- d) DDBFCO 93a for offence A, 93b for offence B and 93c for offence C.
- 10. No insulting people. We don't care how many names you created.

I saw the bus in a picture in the newspaper. The rear air con compressor grilles resembles those of the Leyland Olympian. -

Apparently they said that the burnt Leyland Olympian is SBS9091D.

Took SBS3154X that cameoed on 30 from 157 today...
Doesn't have WAB stix and picked up a PIW. What a coincidence!
Traffic jam at Keppel Rd towards ECP/Anson Rd... 1 Big truck collided with a black car, with a motorbike sandwiched in-between them, another lorry also dented was parked in front of the 3 vehicles. Blocked 2 of the 3 lanes available. Jam all the way till Telok Blangah MRT station. Finally plowing it through, another heavy traffic at ECP. Though a much minor one, a roadwork at lane 1. -
