PLEASE BE SMART.
There are no more berths for svcs To the northeast in Changi Airport oredi. Nor are there anymore places for buses to TERMINATE at PTB2. In this case this svc can only terminate at Sengkang or Punggol, but since svc 119 and the Bishan svc will invade Punggol soon, this svc can only terminate at Sengkang int.
This should be the route: Sengkang int ---> Rivervale ---> KPE ---> Geylang ---> Eunos ---> Bedok North/Kaki Bukit ---> Chai Chee ---> Tanah Merah MRT station and back.

I don't understand the need for this route. The point of terminating at Punggol Road End??? Got demand meh???
Will be better if you ply it from Ariport to the west like Clementi or Jurong East.

That's the dilemma of being a bus fan. Do you take the bus because you want to see the cameos and such, or do you take the MRT as it takes you faster to your destination?
Originally posted by SMB128B:518 will go when DTL opens.
502 and 506 I think will stay.
I beg to differ though. Given how Mr Lui and LTA mentioned before that there should be a need for parallel services to the MRT lines in case of train breakdowns (it's in the papers before), do you think they would still withdraw 518 when the Downtown Line opens? Besides, the DTL will definitely be packed to the brim one lor, peak hour everyone definitely can't squeeze on DTL back to the east. It's more feasible for alternatives to be available to commuters. The previous transport ministers thought differently, that's why they cut the routes here & there when the NEL opened.

So fucking stubborn.
How many times must I say Punggol Int have no more space for new services. Dumb or what.
Your route will be shut down very soon for duplication with 119/43/31. Believe me, my route is more feasible as my route serves an additional route to those with 1 or 2 services only eg. Rivervale, Chai Chee etc.
Originally posted by SBS3174M:i think u are rite as 518 not wab
I think you're obviously a short-term thinker. If you do calculate the maths, 518 needs only 1 more Citaro / WAB to go WAB status. Only 1 more WAB. And there's still like those 3 Striders stuck on 518 still that might not be extended, esp 2622T which still has blue seats. Do you think they put the Citaros on 518 for fun still? And there's a significant number of those people working in the city area who rely on 518 & 518A instead to get them to work from the east instead of the train.

Wooh, thanks for the update on the route of 505. Taking 505 was memorable, because somehow everytime I took it, it was the DM3500s that came (that time they were only a few years old, so had that 'new bus' feel to them). And man, were they good on the expressways!

518 withdraw.
502 and 506 remains the same.
Your 501 is redundant. There are already 3, 27 and 34 going from Sengkang/Punggol to Tampines. People won't pay express fare for going places like that. All your 501 ideas are not feasible at all.
My 501 is more appropriate as to cover back the deleted sector that was once for former 502. Provides an express bus link from Northeast to the city.
518 no need to withdraw. It has very high demand and is very fast from Suntec to the east. In fact it needs double deckers. Please observe the demand patterns. You idea is not realistic. I think all the office workers living in the east working in Suntec will punch you for this.

501 is needed as there are people out there who needed direct link from Tanah Merah/Simei/Expo area. i have to agree that it doesn't need to terminate at Tampines - a loop at Tanah Merah MRT station is good enough. It should also pass through places like Kaki Bukit, Eunos etc.
Hey guys, why is this turning into a fantasy bus company thread instead?
