Are bus fares reasonable?

  I normally take MRT, but recently realise taking 966 Express from Woodlands to Toa Payoh is very fast, like 25mins! But the fare was $2! I think in Singapore context this is not promoting use of public transport. Just wondering what you all think...

  Yes, very reasonable. Bus has more seats than MRT . You can also enjoy the scenery...

  Sv966 was faster before the amendment to Bukit Panjang. Now it use good buses like Mercedes-Benz O405 and MAN NL323F A22.
  
  I think 60km/h for buses is too slow. Should increase to 70km/h?

  almost 22km to travel from Woodlands to TPY... fare is S$1.69 using ezylink.. if take mrt also around S$1.66... no difference..  cant even buy a bowl of fishball noodles right now....

  MAN good bus? Ppl peak hr complain it's a small capacity bus... And as mentioned bef, LTA officials have acknowledged this problem... So how good? Your good may not be good for others, or even at the price of other's peak hr bus needs. Any case, as I've mentioned... 60km/hr is alrdy fast enough, over safety issues... Can you slow down or brake in time at 70km/hr esp when bus is packed w/ standee... Driving is never abt how fast, it's abt how safe... Forgot.. all the gina here all gina, haven't even learn how to drive yet... Will not understand you learn how to drive and binded w/ traffic safety rules...

  As for the stage 1-4,4.5-7 it's a bit overpriced others are ok.Should start from 80cents,90cents,$1.10,$1.30,$1.50,$1.70,1.90,2.10max

  Small capacity engine on expressway svc tend to consume more fuel regardless its turbocharged or not.On stop n go yes the small capacity turbo is king and save fuel..Svc like 857/858/965/966/969 need lots of MAN and OC engines

  You also need to expect effeciency from your own transport companies... 39, 72 damn suay...

  Low floor buses aren't meant to be high capacity city buses.
