After the recent pay adjustment and changing to 6 days work, how much do u earn monthly on average now? I heard that drivers are to reach the interchange 30mins earlier then their scheduled timing to standby for afternoon shift , like that got count as OT?, If never take leave or mc and do according to the schedule , can earn how much avg?
any1? Newspaper reported avg 2.5k, real or fake?
I think those chinese and malaysian driver basic pay are lower then singaporean driver.. any driver to comment on the pay? looking to apply as a bus driver
Malaysian and Singaporean pay the gap is not wide.If Malaysian bring back $2300 Singaporean around $2500-2600.Malaysian getting richer to those through n flow JB-SG.Unless the gap is widen I dun see it will attract many Singaporeans.Flaw of working system in SG
From newspaper reports it seems to be around $1500 for 7 hour 20 min X 6 days work week. Normally bus drivers have overtime everyday so they should be getting much more than $1500...
The timer starts from when they collect the bus from the depot or interchange and ends when they end their shift according to timesheet... Split breaks are not counted. Only mealbreak which are paid for.

Singaporean still need to contribute to CPF ... , Basic pay is now $1625 for SMRT , $1600 for SBST? Adding up all the incentive and allowances not sure average how much they can earn.

After probation and upon confirmation their basic salary would be increased. As for the Chinese from China SMRT driver, their starting basic salary was around S$1000 to S$1100 and upon confirmation it would be increased too. Malaysians and Chinese drivers work permits were valid for 2 years. I also recalled talking to one of the senior staff of SMRT, a Malaysian driver, he had commented that most of the OT would usually go to the Chinese from China drivers. I also noticed there were many Chinese females bus driver from China that were recruited by SMRT last year.
I think most younger Singaporeans with tertiary education will not be interested in being a bus driver eventhough SMRT offer them an initial basic salary of S$1500 during their probationary period.
there is overtime for all drivers. it's just depending on what service and type of shift (half day aka AM or PM or peak hour shift aka split shift).

Oh ok. Well the malaysian driver told me that usually the Chinese drivers from China will be most enthusiatic in doing all the OTs available and other drivers have no chance to do that OT.
ha normally drivers are assigned to any service at first. as their record builds up they can transfer to a service they wish to drive and can request to be permanent on certain shifts. in the service itself all drivers rotate slots with each other every thursday or friday (unless the driver request to be permanent on a certain slot is approved) so i think it should be fair to all drivers driving the same service.
But still on a 6 days week basis which avoid many Singaporeans to apply. My Singaporeans SLs friends will have to wait n see if the co revert back to 5 days week before decide to quit.
Found this latest news on SMRT website
Starting basic salary is $1625 , gross pay range from $2.4k - $2.9k but will be on 6 days week.
In an older news report, they said that SMRT will allow their SL to go back on 5 days week but their basic salary will remain the same as last time, got to wait for more updates from SMRT themself.
