SBST has been in a marathon to create short working trips. Let's create our own short working trips here as we see suitable.
188A - CCK Interchange to Kent Ridge Terminal (morning peak)
188B - Kent Ridge Terminal to CCK Interchange (evening peak) - does not operate during school holidays
Deploying 2 Habits.
Reason:
(Morning) It is difficult for pax to enter the bus once it hits Bukit Batok West Ave 7, 4 and 2 as it already comes full from CCK Way, Bukit Batok road.
(Evening) Good for students in Kent Ridge / Clementi road area

3105M actually does a shortworking trip from NEX to Punggol Int in the evening - just that it is not re-numbered yet.

Actually 165 is a shorter alternative of 132 and 74 from AMK to HG.

True - but if you see the loading on 74, there are very few pax who want to go to HG Int. Most of the bus empties on stops on HG Ave 8 (8 stops in total to be precise). Hence, I would not do 132A or 165A.

how about those at science park 2? I believe alot of the 188 pax alight at NUS and science park, and some at mbc and psa.
its demand do not considerably drop at kent ridge except for trips outside am peak and are student-centric trips.
188B just operate as a downroute. if it terminates at an interchange, why need shortworking? waste of service numbers.
and 188B the only catchment you get is those from NUS when more pax come from the earlier part of the route..

its a halfway on service trip, in short known as downroute.

this downroute operates during evening peak, and earlier part of am peak.

pax catchment is who? students? workers? where?
and what time?
it seems like there is some misconception on how shortworking trips operate.
1. if the bus terminates at its terminating point, but starts somewhere along the route, then a SWT number is not needed. in short its known as downroute. There are many services that has this. they include but not limited to services 2, 9A, 15, 21, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33, 45, 52, 53, 54, 55, 57, 60, 69, 70, 74, 80, 83, 87, 98, 99, 100, 131, 154, 161, 174, 190, 195A, 196, 228, 238, 240, 243, 960.
2. SWTs are designed to help a specific sector at a specific timing. There has to be a group of commuters that the SWT is catered for. It is usually at the expense of at least 1 full route bus/trip for this SWT.

43 - 3105M was such a waste yesterday. 7.20pm - 43, 7.22pm - 70, 7.23pm - 43 (3105M - started fresh at NEX to Punggol). Can you guess the number of passengers who boarded the bus? 5 pax.
7.29 - 70
The next 43 came at 7.41pm KUB filled to the brim with around 65-70pax with leftovers who waited for the 70 that came after (7.44pm)

one day survey is not conclusive. It is best to do it over a few days consecutively.
the schedule is fixed, but humans are not. What schedulers can best do is to match as close as they can to the time periods that have more people. On another hand, if 3105's loading not too low to start a downroute, its earlier downroute is probably the peak trip for its duty.
