If Scania can offer a K360UD double decker, then SMRTB should seriously consider it. Maybe it can be bodied by Gemilang but different design from SBST K310UD.
Citaros is good provided they using the new 10.500cc engine not the 6.700cc engine. No need waste money buy CBU buses,Buy Scania KUD 3axles with 360hp/1600nm option is more than good. For single deckers they got no horsepower requirement.
If SMRT buy Scania KUD will be Gemilang body same as SBS design!!! Should buy Euro VI Citaro not creepy Scania!!!

No Citaro. The design at the rear is dangerous and can cause people to fall.

SMRT have specified EURO V, so the Citaro G for this emissions standard will come with the OM 457 hLA engine (12-litre) with either 299 PS and 1250 Nm or 354 PS and 1600 Nm.

Do you have conclusive documented evidence of this? If not, why are you spreading such dribble on public forums?
How about Volvo? If SMRT die die really need buy DDs, I "insist" that they purchase Volvo ones..

I think he is referring to the last row of seats.

I wish to see his evidences too - from what i remember the Citaro's step at the second last row of seats has a "No standing on steps". Then again, there will be people who chooses to stand at the step.
To claim "The design at the rear is dangerous and can cause people to fall.", it is a very big claim as not only SBS Transit & SMRT Buses operates Citaros, there are various countries having Citaro buses as part of their bus fleet.

Can i have the link(s) to the relevant government sources/websites regarding this "(SG) govt is not supporting the use of hybrid buses ?

Because that's what many here have been doing and the tradition just kept up.

It is equally likely someone would fall while standing there (ignoring the No Standing sign) as someone would fall near the steps of a low entry bus. But the space is so small and narrow, it is extremely unlikely one would stand there.

Interior spec of the Citaro is customisable depending on operator preferences. The width of the central aisle is limited by the amount of space between the wheelarches - a constant between all manufacturers. Regarding prices, there is more to TCO than the purchasing price of the vehicles.

Not supporting the use as in giving rebates for operators eg. using CNG buses.

the MAN's aisle seems a bit wider... but the rear seating configuration is surely much better than the Citaros. even floor unlike the Citaros
