Sungai Rambai - A total of 40 new buses will be delivered to Syarikat Bas Panorama Melaka Sdn Bhd (Panorama Melaka) by the end of this year.
Chairman of Panorama Malacca, Datuk Hasan Rahman said the bus will be delivered by stages starting this November, thus giving a new experience to the users of public transport in the state.
He said the bus leased from Scomi Group is also equipped with the latest safety systems like the anti-lock brake system (ABS) as well as passenger safety features.
I am confident that with the addition of the 40 buses, we will be able to improve the quality of bus service in Malacca.
"We will be providing the best service and comfort to the people of this country from January next year," he said.
Hasan, who is also Member of the Legislative Assembly (Assembly) Sungai Rambai said the bus measuring 17 meters in length, can accommodate 60 passengers and also provided speakers and screens to assist the driver to see passengers alighting at both doors of the bus.
"We are also aware, these buses are also larger than the existing bus which are nine and seven meters long," he said.
He said, for now, the bus will be used for long haul services, from Melaka Sentral to Muar, Tampin, Alor Gajah, Masjid Tanah and Jasin.
