It has been a while ever since the B10M Mark III DMs have been deregistered.
Now, the time for the B10M Mark IV DMs have comes.
Many of these buses, however, were given a 2-year extension and a repainted livery, and refurbishment, which include the silvery rims, most likely for the last time.
But apparently, not every bus got to enjoy such luxury. Some were, unfortunately, deregistered earlier than the others, and never back to the roads of Singapore again.
It has come to our attention that together with these "going to be deregistered" DMs, the well-known Superbus SBS997A will be walking into history as well, with its last permanent service on 83. Much as we hope that SBS997A will also receive refurbishment and extended lifespan, it does not.
So, let us say our farewell words to these buses, to those deregistered DMs, and also the only 15m Superlong bus in Singapore.
As for me, I have never taken SBS997A before. However, I have boarded the Mark IV DMs countless times when I'm young. Although the times I have boarded or seen you guys is much lesser today, the memories of riding on you, young or old, especially the times when I dun even know what bus-spotting is, always remain in our memories.
Farewell is not just words. For those lucky DMs which receive 2-year extension, hope you guys have a good time for the last few years with us. As for those DMs and SBS997A which are going to be deregistered, I shall say: Thanks for serving us for the past 17 years, and we shall not forget you!
How about you? Do you have any farewell words to these DMs and SBS997A? Do share here!
I've realized that some of the HGDEP DMs only had their nearside rear rims painted. SBS973T is one of them.
I really miss alot is the SBS0997A as this bus did nt do cameo alot, mostly stick to the perm svc while during perm time. So far SBS0997A only do before svc 62, 83 & 174. I really hope that sbstransit can refurbishment the SBS0997A & throw to other depot to continue on svc. Svc like all in BNDEP / BBDEP / ARBP. Hope to see it back on the road soon, i really miss SBS0997A alot as sbstransit only balance one superlong bus, since they sold away their SBS0998Y & SBS0999U to new zeland after trial.
Well I just hope that SBS997A will be sold away together with a few DMs which are in better condition.
oh ok bye bye
Old and lousy buses won't be missed!!!

Mk4 (DM): OK bus but bodykit a bit old-school.
Anyway, never a big fan of B10Ms. Always a Scania (N113) person.
Seems like Citaros becoming the main fleet once all the B10Ms vanish. The Stirders also have little time left, don't they?
Remembered took MK4 DM on service 9, when it still have red rims with rimcaps...That time 9 was under HGDEP...
MK4 DMs, 1st SD to use rectangle destos right? 1st to use new type of bench seats? 1st to use rectangle aircon ducts?
Now, this bus has tight legroom... I think i'm too tall or the bus grow shorter?

Did the whole rim became red? Got any picture?

The middle part. Though I remembered correctly on 30 Sept it got REPAINTED. I cannot gurantee it still got the repainted red rims. Or it may just be one of the rims that got repainted.
Bye SBS997A.
Missed the last ride on 83 in August.
And my rides on 76, 174 and 62 when young.
where can we see the long bus bringing dis-assembly by sbst???? or the bus being exported ?????

To the similar company which bought SBS998Y and SBS999U so they will re-unite.
How sweet...
Sad that this bus is not given any extensions.
It made the headlines when it was introduced in 1995. It was even exhibited in former WTC in one transport exhibition. The bus was so new and modern that time. That was so long back.
Well, time flies. Remembered my rides on 62, 76, 83 and 174.
Time flies. Wonder how's SBS997A now.
He's very old now, complains of backpains, and keeps forgetting where he places his dentures.
From now on, reply to the clones by saying off-topic.
Can't let him insult anymore old but good buses...
Respect other buses, I keep on repeating this to SMB228X

He thinks Citaros are godly sia... E200 beats the crap out of the Citaros anyway...
I do like Citaros(both SBST/SMRT) due to less vibrations and nice Voith DIWA D854.5 gearboxes. But not to the extent of SMB228X mindset. My passion for bendies is also not like clone standard... I think his Citarotitis mental condition hasn't even stabilized a bit...
