This is fact. Government should imply a private bus or something(that's cheap) for this disabled people. You can't simply because the bus is crowded, force some passengers to alight and wait for the next bus, and allow the disabled people to board do you? As you should know, during peak hours, there's confirm no space in the bus or train.
Further more, I never say that LTA shouldn't implement, but rather a "Not fully WAB transport". Why? Cause during non-peak hours, there's still disabled people. Their boarding chances is higher. But during peak hours, their chance is low(besides waiting at interchange), and the non-WAB(probably bendy etc.) can take more pax.

To run another specialised fleet of private WAB buses just to cater for the minority? Have you thought about the cost and the frequency to operate? The PIW impact is minimal and like priority seats, they should be given priority to board if it is possible.
To implement a half-half "Not fully WAB transport" defeats the entire purpose of accessiblity in the future, It's what LTA is aiming, and let me remind you that you will grow old one day and may rely on the wheelchair accessibility in the future. Whatever you suggest today if implemented in the future could affect you and your relatives and family and friends.

I prefer those additional cost to cater the minority. Or perhaps something that's on standby, when there's PIW, the WAB vehicle can be dispatch. Both benefits~ Plus, I don't think it will even affect my family or relatives when there's even WAB.
I find it troublesome too(even if there's WAB buses/trains, imagine travelling from Home to somewhere like Punggol, normal bus route would delay a lot of time). I don't think you would take home service to interchange, transfer to MRT(if I start from Marsiling) down to Dhoby Ghaut, and up again to Punggol when I can simply call for a cab(London Cab) and reach my destination fast?
Even if I am staying at Woodlands(example), to go Bedok, I can take svc168. However, being a PIW, I would much prefer a faster way, aka Cab(or some private WAB buses/vehicle). Unless a PIW is travelling short distance, the WAB feature isn't really of much use.
Perhaps 70% of Public transport fleet is WAB, whereas 30% will remain non-WABs. And probably increase the no. of WABs for those private vehicles(for those WAB ppl to charter/flag down).
Anyway, this isn't any "flame wars"~~

If SMRT keeps them for a further two years, how will they meet a WAB fleet by that set deadline by Land Transport Authority?
Agree TTM!!! SMRT must scrap all old crappy DAF Scania and Lance!!! Replace them with new Euro VI Citaros and Citaro Gs!!!! Must allow every wheelchair person to board any bus!!!

Agree!!! All old creepy bus out!!! Come in Wright and Citaros!!!

If you think this is flame war, then there will be no active sensible discussion, this should not even be called a forum. Was it?
Additional cost you foot the bill then maybe govt inplement. And i do not think you appreciate the value of having WAB services, or are you discriminating those who are having disabilities by not having them take the same public transport as us?

Did I say it is? :3 I only typed out IN CASE someone think it IS~~
Aiyo please lah horh~ If Govt. no buy WAB buses, those money can be used on the private buses to cater the needs. It's not that I am discriminating them, but rather, that would help them even more lorh please~
Imagine PIW unable to board a packed bus, he waited for the 2nd bus, yet it's full. Only when it comes the third one, he's able to board. I believe even a PIW don't wanna wait so long?
Please, if you think that way, you're seriously hopeless minded who only think of negative side when there's positive side to think of

Given that he has mentioned that this is not a flame war, what makes you think it is?

I wouldn't say that WAB are bad. Actually it doesn't make a difference with non-WAB, though greatest disadvantage is less seats.
In fact, I pity them~
Unlike somebody, even a boy also want to stomp, and yet reveal the identity Can say that you're simply heartless? And I ain't sure who said that TIB868X is cyberbullying when you're also cyberbullying too?
Since you only know how to pin-point others, let me say what I've seen then? Now could you say whose the boy who ran across the road, on 6/7/2012, around 7pm, to snap SBS8030L on 197 towards Jurong East Int at the bus stop Opposite JE Lib? Yes yes, the guy whom almost kenna buang down by a motorbike~~
Or is that a helping hand to make him famous? Or or make him debut in Ah Boys To Men? Or or or make him popular like the character ; Zhang Yang, whom appear in It Takes Two show on Channel 8???

Yes they aren't that bad, it can carry more passengers. But it's somewhat not really a 100% benefit for PIW during peak hours. Don't say bus, even trains also.

Watching his posts all I can see is that he likes to target others a lot. Especially when people has offended him previously, but he chose to continue pestering. He thinks that he can spoil TIB868X's reputation just like that. But instead, he brought harm to himself. No one likes it when one repeats an incident which is long ago history countless times, it really pisses everyone off.

Because of the number of seats which you find a bit too few?
