dirty is a subjective word. 402 scania also dirty.. so?
more is better during peaks.

If 163 withdrawn, the link between Toa Payoh to Upp Thomson will be lost as well.
Not to mention Fernvale also, loss of link to YCK Road.
163's route is rather unique in certain ways, unlike 43/70/76 which runs parallel along Upp Paya Lebar.

Punggol -> Sengkang East/West -> Jalan Kayu -> Yio Chu Kang Road -> Ang Mo Kio Ave 8 -> Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 -> Bishan Road -> Bishan Intobjective is to ease 163's load from Fernvale to YCK.
IMO.. Hougang to Serangoon is very very redundant!
Isnt it suppose to be YCK road then AMK ave 6 then 8 then Bishan Road?
Transport minister failed to deliver again. Still remember what the heck he says a two three months ago. 8 paralle new routes to be introduced in the 3rd quarter of 2012. Now singing another story.

you interpret wrongly.
Please read Paragraph 10 of the following press release dated 7 March 12.

10. Out of the 40 new bus routes, about 8 will be parallel bus routes that connect major HDB towns to the city area, making use of the expressways. Six of the eight parallel bus routes will connect from Choa Chu Kang, Jurong, Sengkang, Tampines, Woodlands and Yishun. The remaining two routes are still being worked out and will be announced when ready. The new parallel bus routes will be progressively introduced from the third quarter of 2012 to provide more options to commuters using stretches of the existing rail lines that experience persistent high ridership, while the ongoing rail enhancement measures are being implemented. LTA will monitor the performance of these parallel bus services closely and make adjustments where required. Details of these routes will be provided when ready.
Third quarter - is from October to December ?

I interpret as, the first of the 8 parallel bus services will be introduced in the 3rd quarter. That first service is from Tampines to CBD.

Better to extend it back to Marina Bay via PIE, KPE, Sims Way, Fort Rd, ECP. MBS to Marina Bay looping Suntec City first from Toa Payoh.
it said progessively FROM, not progressively BY.
LTA has fulfilled one of the 8 parallel routes as the Tampines route will be introduced this quarter.
the other 7 will be introduced PROGRESSIVELY.
Ok, 238 your english is powderful. surrender to you

Service 50 from Bishan to Punggol via Ang Mo Kio Ave 8, YCK Road, Sengkang West/East Ave, Sengkang East Road. Full AMDEP control.
Service 68 from Tampines to Shenton Way via Bedok and Marina Bay Sands.
For Hougang to Serangoon, likely to use 11x series.
Seriously, Sengkang West anf Fernvale estate need a new trunk service to link to AMK and YCK MRT. Having a service 163/163M is not enough to cope with the growing population in Fernvale.
Really, HG to serangoon can already use 101. What's wrong with LTA?
