Too bad, SMB136C trail was sucessful..
With Low floor buses, it allows passengers like the elderly easier access to seats at the back of the bus..
Quote from SMRT Press release:
"SMRT has received very positive feedback from passengers about the trial
bus. In particular, more than 71% of the 3,329 respondents to a survey
strongly agreed and agreed that the bus’s full low floor has made it a safer
ride for them. In addition, about 75% of respondents strongly agreed and
agreed that they enjoyed their travel experience on board the bus and shared
that they liked the comfortable seats, smoother ride, quieter interior and
modular design featuring a fully-integrated, light-weight body, which causes
lesser vibration."
I too saw a report in Lian He Zao Bao which is a dude strongly disagreeing with citaros and states why it is dangerous and so on...
Fortunately I love those KUBs on the roads now

What about those MANs?
Actually I see no difference between the 2 types of buses.
Lets compare a KUB and a Citaro, a LE and LF bus respectively.
1. Look the their rear. Which one seems to have more seats?
2. Which one seems to have more space?
3. Can both LE and LF achieve their main property?
[ Some KUB can carry 2 PIWs while citaros and some other KUB can carry 1 PIW. ]
4. Which seems to be more prone to falling?
5. Which one seems to be more elderly-aided for elderly who wants to sit at the rear?
[ There is NO step from the seat to the aisle. ]
6. If a person carries many bulky items, which is more preferred?
7. If the bus reached max loading, which is more preferred?
8. If the bus is turning at various angles, which is better to preventing fall damage when an elderly sits at the first row falls? [ Do NOT include jerkiness as a reason. ]
9. If you were to sit at the center of the rear row of seats, which one gives you a better sense of security? [ Do NOT include jerkiness as a reason. ]
10. Which is more comfortable and appealing?
You all should try answering these questions.
ppl just cant be satisfied..
last time bus all got steps at entrance and exit
so ppl complain say not elderly friendly
then low entry bus came about with zero step
ppl say the step to the rear dangerous as centre of gravity is higher
then fine, give u low floor bus, no wonky steps to the rear
still complain, because aisle at the rear too narrow
then how?
dont take bus lor
ppl only say the aisle is narrow because they cant squeeze thru
even though the aisle is in fact narrow
but isnt it already better than having those steps at the entrance or exit
or steps to the rear
is it more dangerous to say excuse me to squeeze past, and everyone practice graciousness
or to stand higher in the bus and risk falling
there's still a fundemental problem in both LE and LF buses... that people refuse to move to the rear. to some, the rear of LE buses are 'too high' while the rear of LF buses are 'too narrow'. well i didnt think the O405's aisle was that wide either....
does that include B9TL batch 3? I think such design are well-received by people.
I think the Volvo B9TL Wrights have the best designs so far.

Take the instance of svc 16. I took it from Dhoby Ghaut to Great World City. It was a 0530 Citaro. The bus was packed with around 24 standies. At Orchard MRT, there were at least 10-12 pax who could not enter the bus, but when I saw the rear of the bus no one was standing. Everyone clogs around the entrance, and door.
Also, since you have a space to keep bag at the entrance, I saw a school kid with his bag, and a lady with grocery standing right near the seat close to entrance where you can keep the bag. They weren't moving, and nor was anyone asking them to go ahead.
During peak hours, the loading on DDs is faster than SDs just because of the more number of pax it can take.
The max loading a Citaro can take cannot exceed 60 - 65 pax because people are unwilling to move to the rear.
now i'm confused. so is there really a ban on LE buses?
From what I know, citaro left mounted engine so need extra step
SBS n SMRT no buy new LE bus prove LE bus are banned!!! Somemore they buy more Wright Citaro n MAN!!!
Hope they buy Citaro Gs!!! Lots of standing space very wide!!!!

You bodoh or what, thambi?
The new 550 buses are under BSEP improvement programme, which mainly buys the lastest bus the companies brought, thambi.
If not, why did SMRT not buy new citaros then, bodoh?
Or your spelling wrong, you want ZF bus?
No official document how to prove LE bus banned? Then why did companies bothered to made them in the first place then, thambi?
Really everything you type is passing through your brain which is located in your asshole
