I was wondering, will SBS ever remember to register back some of those unused rego no. in the B1 citaros (6169, 6177M and those missing 62xx) buses anot?? or they not going to fill back the empty slots?

Think somehow SBS Transit will, maybe in 10 years' time according to what I heard from someone...it may be easy for the Citaros, but for the Wrights, well that's another story.
There should be a bulk of new Citaro registrations soon in the next few weeks before or after CNY~
There's like about 40-60 new Citaros currently parked in Sembawang Wharves along with the hundreds of Kia Optima K5 Silvercabs. Citaros are with the basic SBST livery with rim covers still on, but without any of the SBST stickers & logos, and obviously without any rego plates yet too.
No pics because it's a fairly restricted place, so this is the most info I can give. Cheers.

115 buses in total registered.
I think I posted this before last year, but back then it was just a hunch. But now after the past 2 months of observing the SBST Citaros & their acceleration, I can say SBST definitely did do something to the ECU or engine mapping of the Citaros to make the rev limiter cut in much earlier in the first 2 gears.
Because over the past month, I've observed BCs that are chionging their Citaros, so that means from 3rd gear onwards, the kickdown happens as usual.
But somehow, the gearbox now shifts up from 1st to 2nd gear & then to 3rd gear much earlier at lower revs than before from the engine sound heard (the 'before' period is when we can distinctly hear those so-called 'kickdowns' and the accompanying turbo boost sound). I don't hear any Citaros doing the kickdowns from 1st gear to 2nd gear or to 3rd gear anymore.
And sometimes at super low speeds, say 5kmh, the gearbox shifts up abruptly and jerkily from 1st to 2nd. This is esp evident in the CGA svcs' Citaros, as they turn out from the berths and attempt the incline to the next PTB.
Guess this is a way SBST is trying to extend the lifespan of the Citaros' engines & turbos?
And interestingly, I think SMRT hasn't tampered with its Citaros' rev limiter or engine mapping yet because i still hear kickdowns from 1st to 2nd & to 3rd gear in the Citaros plying around Yishun lately. Hmm.

SMB136C seems to be easily stuck in kickdown mode regardless of driver. Recommend all bus fans to ride it.

It has to do with the gear ratios of the ZF gearbox in 136C compared to the other Voith Citaros uh. When the ZF gearbox in 136C reaches the end of each gear, the revs are likely much more nearer to the end of the green range on the tachometer compared to the other Voith Citaros, if you try to distinguish from the constant turbo boost sound usually on 136C compared to other Citaros.

Should be SLBP if they are intent on taking the KUBs from SL to BB for 160/170 use.
