Hi,I know this kinda topic exist before previously but we can still open a discussion to improve bus service that you think need improvement especially on deployment,Frequencies etc.Pls keep it within topic.
SBST
7 need to improve frequencies during weekends,Dunno why but Clementi bound feel like 12-18 mins per bus.Its good for BNDEP to take a few duties back.
97 & 174..Talking about cost saving especially with rising fuel cost. Its ironic to off service all the way from SLBP to Marina Ctr and New Bridge Rd respectively. Its better if ARBP cab take a few duties.Last bus from Jurong East and Boon Lay can be adjust till late midnight for ARBP side.
93,Should adjust the headways during peaks,Off peaks still justified with 12-15 mins freq.
SMRT
75..Should convert 2 splits to full day.Its absurd to wait nearly 17 mins on average during off peak.
77 should just loop at Suntec City.
852 & 855.Should add 2 more split duties.
853 should just loop at Marine Terrace rather than Upp East Coast during Sundays/PHs.
981.Timing should adjust.Add 1 more bus and loop at Senoko.I propose Monday-Fri 0600-0915 1630-2000,Saturdays 0600-0915 1330-1600.Sundays/PHs 0700-0915 1330-1500.Can relieve 169 loads too.
SBST
27 - evening downroutes are still shaky. fri/sat PM heavy loads noticeably go on till 10pm. BCs are seen to "be happy" if their downroute appears to have low loading. they'll speed faster to Hougang instead of slowing down hoping to get more catchment, thus not helping the rear bus.
28/29 - morning peak Ave 9 stop at N4 shops twds Tamp Int. 28 would be full with street 45 passengers. 29 with passengers from 2 stops before. End up pax here cannot board.
39 - drive faster please.
72 - drive faster please.
SMRT
969 - Tampines Int 5.45pm - 6.30pm should be all Bendy buses. hurhur.
975 - Opp Lot 1 Bus Stop, weekdays 6.45am - approx 7.30/45am downroute from here. Sometimes have erractic frequency like 15mins which cause the crowd to build up at the bus stop.
172/975 - Tengah Airbase bus stop, weekdays 5pm - 6pm downroute from here. Most of the time, bus cannot fetch pax from HTA bus stop as it would be packed. More crucial would be Friday where many would book out from the various camps.
981 now how's e demand?
Yah Sv 7 needs more buses, but not too sure if 175 can help in CBD leg.
Sv 93 needs peak hr adjustment, the demand now pretty good in spite of CCL.
For my side
Sv 24 (Changi - Bedok side). Old Sv 34 should be revived to incr ad hoc capacity during peak hrs.
Sv 67, 75, 184, 961 needs some review. The headways not only unstable, the buses appear to siam bus stops.
Sv 98's off peak freq. The return leg headways is oftenly unstable.
Sv 124... The Bt Merah side loading pretty high even during PM off peak.
Sv 187... Increase capacity level? Evening peak Woodlands - Bt Panjang high loading.
Sv 194 should have their own fleet. AM peak 30 mins freq no longer applicable w/ BSEP.
Sv 403 should get 1 more evening peak bus. The morning slot likely can be placed on Sv 15.
Sv 960... How come they go cut so many O405G out? End up at night ppl at Little India no chance of boarding.
Seriously I've been wondering how come even during off peak hrs, buses like 75, 855 can have bunching...
854 - Stop all the Dennis Lance cameos, especially in the morning peak.
857 - Need bendies in the Morning peak, bus full by the time reach Khatib. Pax at Lentor and YCK Rd can't board the bus.
858 - Morning peak hour will be full by the time reach Northpoint bus stop. End up passengers can't board the bus. Need to add more buses, sometimes waiting time can be long..
965 - Improve frequency, add more buses. Woodlands to Yishun loading very high. 965A came at the wrong timing.
969 - same case as 858. Off peak loading is high, need bendies to run full day and during weekends.
74,97,157 - So many Single decks ?
161 - Need full fleed DDs, More buses in the morning. Pax at Punggol Road can't board the bus
39,72 - drive faster la
23,25,147 - Full fleet DDs
62 - Off peak frequency need must improve
buses are behind schedules becos of overstaying unnessarily at the bus stops
passengers clogging at the entrance, trying frantically to squeeze in, passengers on the buses do not have the initiative to shift inwards...thereby creating a bottleneck..
BC/SL dare not anyhow close the front doors when the entrance passage is too crowded, sometimes they want to close..but the passengers at the bus stops, refusing to wait for next bus, still stubbornly want to squeeze on board
during peak hours, at crowded bus stops, should deploy marshallers to enable the buses to close the front doors and move off quickly to avoid delay..just like what woodlands CIQ is practising now
peak hours is the most stressful period, BC/SL cannot cope alone
buses should be equipped with microphone and broadcasting capability so that BC/SL can speak into the microphone to request passengers to move inwards
if possible, should install the Front door closing chime and let it play loudly
"FRONT DOOR CLOSING!! PLS STAND CLEAR!!...* 3 seconds very loud beep *" then closed
those clogging at the front door, still trying to squeeze on board will immediately give up and disperse, and wait for next bus

there's 2 S28 buses (1 of them is DD) tat downroute from Tampines Ave 9 Blk 484 to Tampines Int during weekdays morning peak. It's the timing. Timing just rite can clear a lot of ppl.
163 needs upgrade :P
AND 969 should get more bendies instead of MAN.
Services like 32, 64, 111, 123 and 175 which plys the city area could have a better frequency during Friday nights and Saturdays as I have encountered the three mentioned services having 20 minutes frequencies during such timings.
76-Drive faster;even KUB can outrun it
24-More deployments needed for starting from Bedok-Airport / Airport-Bedok
53-Serangoon-Hougang / Pasir Ris-Airport
27-Whole Journey
39/72-Faster;even some crappy buses can outrun it.
My take on the topic- 195 to NOT play Telok Blangah Way and Depot Road to accomodate DDs. I'm tired of squeezing alr!!!
275 to be withdrawn. Useless duplicate with 30min freq.
855 to have bendies ONLY on peak hours.
175 to improve freq.
961 to add some bendies.
167 to improve PM Off Peak freq and AM peak bendies. (167 got bendy but no bendy on weekday peak hours)
39 and 72 to drive faster please please please!
I don't understand that if a route is heavy loading, you can't put SDs and DDs on it. It depends how lucky you are. If a SD comes on route 147, you squeeze into it, sticking with other passengers. If DD comes, you get a place to sit (comfortable journey). If it is a high loading route, make it fully DD.
Full DD fleet required for:
2, 8, 9, 17, 21, 22, 23 (only 1 SD though), 25, 65 (already), 70, 72, 74, 78, 79, 80, 87, 88, 89, 98, 99, 161, 168 (already), 179 (already), 192, 193, 197, 199. JIS already full fleet DDs.
Full fleet bendy required for:
190, 854, 963

Kick out the SD on 23, and make it loop at Temasek Blvd and Temasek Ave instead, what a waste of it looping at Rochor Canal. And it's time for 23 to get some Wrights
And 963, why are there SO MANy rigids?!!
Get my joke?
then where's the main load for 195? It's Telok Blangah & Depot Rd
Originally posted by sbst275:then where's the main load for 195? It's Telok Blangah & Depot Rd
in that case... 195 forever won't get ADD. Any other solutions besides 195A?
74 full DD please for god's sake.
I just passed 2 back-to-back 74 SD, one MKIV, one citaro at 5pm at HG Ave 8 towards HG.
Both full-house to the door.
I was surprised too. Typically by the time reach Ave 8, the crowd should have lessened considerably. Imagine what happens at peak hour.
SDs do run on 74 peak hours!
Of course frequency then is much better.

I don't understand why BBDEP is still so silly to deploy SDs.
For HGDEP side we can't help it. ADVERTISEMENTS like MUSTAFA only makes ads on SD. But those SDs on 74 are relatively adless...
Like SBS1922J and SBS1928T are adless.
Better call BBDEP deploy some Vo3x Batch 2 or WEGS.
bus 22!!
Intervals can dun so long?!
Full fleet DDs for: 2,7,8,10,14,23,25,30,51,72,74,80,87,88,89,99,111,132,143,147,154,161,166,196,197 and 198
Originally posted by SBS5010P:Svc 163 dosent need upgrade. Pax at sk int boarding the dds dont move up might as well give 113 sua. 113 off peak 20 mins, peak hours although 7-9 mins with 113A helping to clear load, the freq at hougang towards Upper paya lebar road can be 25mins. 113 and 113A always fullhouse at hougang st 21. Maybe 112 or 325 can split duties with 113? 112 keep bunch durin peak hours and no ppl on board. Also, svc 62 need to cut down on freq and buses during off peak hours. Every bus passing by paya lebar or hougang would be empty. Morning 6am every 3 min come one bus, waste of resources. These dds should be put to good use by deploying it to 161 or operating only peak hours. However, the serangoon sec students love to take advantage of this particular bus svc because it comes very frequently. The erratic situation at kovan is caused by svc 113’s erratic frequency, packed like sardines, everyone push each other to get onboard. Sometimes bc of 113A play punk by starting trip at hougang st 21 instead of kovan station, rejecting the huge load. Even morning peak hours very jialat. Anyway, 58’s off peak is ridiculous.
despite your long paragraph, i only see 113 that needs improvement.
same old story.
36 people board 113 or 113A with 7-12min frequency. if behind bus is near, it picks 12 pax.
still need fleet add?
58's off peak should try to keep within 20 mins... it still plies residential areas...

Write in to SBST again and again in this matter.
Don't know why they deploy single deckers when the non air con double deckers were gone.
Svc 911. Extremely erratic frequency during off-peak hours and also need more buses IMO. Maybe an extra S2 duty with a bendy bus could help
911, 912, 913 are all erratic to begin w/... There was 1 time swee swee in order... now it's E and normal trips appearing together at WTCP
