7.

The # of buses on 43 hasn't changed with the introduction of 43A. This means it is using the same buses for 43A. Must be only 1 bus I guess.

Confirmed to be SBS3105M.
I can never get why 72's frequency at night is atrocious with a number of SDs running when the crowd at YCK, Tamp, HG Int is so amazing even at midnight.

Reason= Snail speed service 72.

Which stop were you waiting at?
43's frequency is worse than a feeder's frequency especially during 1pm-4pm.
Worst case is on Weekdays. Once waited 45min for one to come. Most probably caused by it's massive split shift mess. Unlike other's, 43's split shift is done horribly. Since 4 out of it's 17 buses [ Including SBS3105M which already finished SWT 43A before 1pm ] is not WAB, the rest will just jumble up. Worst case is when one of the buses brokedown. The bus behind the bus that brokedown did not speed up to cover up the frequency gap. Hence many got fed up waiting.
Luckily at least for 43, you have 76 and 135 in common from Marine Parade, 70, 76 in parallel on Paya Laber / YCK, and 109 covers many of its stops on YCK / Buangkok Green / Sengkang.
Having said that 43 loading has increased a lot, especially the rush at Serangoon NEX seems to be increasing for both 43 and 70. I have spotted in the evening peak, fresh buses start from NEX on both 43 and 70, and both were DDs. The one on 70 is with the pink ad. I think it makes a full round from Shenton Way to YCK and then comes back off service and does one more trip from Serangoon to YCK.
The bus that started at NEX took around 80 pax in it, and the 70 that followed within a minute, still got some 10 pax.

43 still is very important for those living at Hougang North-Western bound, like where I am.
109 at the stretch of road there has already turned into Ave 9, so everyone turned to 43. Plus with 325 being such a slow service, many preferred 43 as a ''short cut'' to NEL and as an alternative to CBD. 88's load, from what I saw at Blk 969 bus stop at a couple of mornings, have been cut by almost 30% ever since 43A's introduction. This also shows that many people preferred NEL > NSL. SBST got more budget this round - stealing SMRT customers

88's main loading is AMK Ave 5 and AMK Ave 10 from where people go to AMK Station. I haven't seen a drop in 88 loading at AMK Station at least.
Also 43A is just one bus. I wonder if one bus would make such a significant difference to people's traveling habits. I feel it is more to clear the crowd of the existing bus and give alternative to passengers at Blk 953 and Toho Green with 70 coming almost packed from Seletar Hills.
Shortworking Trip 200A introduced.

This must be to take care of loading for National Leadership Institute between 8.30 and 9.30 peak.
Dear Moderator,
Can we rename this forum to "New shortworking trip services" and remove 43A and 72A, so that we don't need to use a new thread everytime and can continue on this one?
Thank you!
Actually individual topic gives high visibility to upcoming SWT's.
What is the # of DDs on 43 now? Earlier, it would be difficult to spot a DD, as there would be SDs flocking during morning peak.
Now, I saw back to back only DDs in an hour span. I think 43 has got the best fleet improvement this year?

It received another DD, fleet expansion. One of the most treasured service - 43.
Frequency sucks still before BSEP. But improved drastically.
From NEX bus stop to Punggol at PM PEAK
Before BSEP :
Next Bus : 18min
Sub Bus : 41min ????
Waited for a long time and decided to take 101 home instead.
After BSEP :
Next Bus : 3min
Sub Bus : 11min

Your frequency comparison did not state the time that you iris the bus. If a comparable time is not stated then its not fair to state that it drastically improve due to BSEP.
There's new shortworking trip, 106A...
How come no one open new thread?

106A is the same as the previous 106A.
SMRT did not put up a notice for that.

How do you all think of the new 88A and 88B?
Just nice introducing on 8th October. So many 8, 8.8
88B can be made better if plying Opp Blk 968 bus stop imo.

need to turn right into YCK Rd, left into Ave 9 and left again then start again as 88A mah....
72 trip can be shortened by half at least...
during non-peak hrs, the streth from tampines<->hougang and yio chukang rd<-> angmokio basically can speed up...
BUT the drivers would rather drive into the bus stops and waste time even though theeres nobody in the bus stops...~~
3105M on 43.
Starting stop Serangoon Int to Punggol at 7.30PM. About 36 pax entered the bus at Serangoon.
There was a 70 ahead
