43A - Buangkok Green to Serangoon Station
72A - YCK to Hougang Station
But these short routes are only during morning peak. I assume if the morning peak load is unmanageable and requires short routes, why not for evening peak??
Also will 43 still continue to have 4 DDs?
Also 2A and 151A is withdrawn. I've observed that all bus stops which 151A calls at had their SWT stickers removed...

Both seems to be operating around my house XD
43 guranteed to use DD. Evening peak can't. It's the other war round and A/B schemes cannot be used for [Midway point -> Interchange], only [Midway point -> Midway Point] or [Interchange -> Midway point]. But Downroutes can be implemented.
43's evening load are mostly managed by it's DD or 156.
72 load for Hougang to YCK is somewhat resolved too by 147, 74, 159, 132 and 88.
But due to many people's preference to take direct trips, plus there is also services aiding in the load, the services will remain unchanged probably.
AM Peak loading pattern is more packed and concised over a shorter period of time as compared to PM Peak. More resources are needed to relieve the AM Peak crunch than PM Peak.

151A's was just a matter of time.

Both withdrawn without notice. All full trips presumably replaced by full trips instead...

There was whole speculation on SG Forum that SBST should introduce 43A, which it did, and withdraw DDs from its route since 70 and 76 have a long route in common. Does your opinion differ? Do you think SBST will still continue with DDs on its route?
I agree 72 loading is huge. There should be no change to the full trips.
everyone goes to work at the same time.
everyone does not go home at the same time.

That is classic. Whenever DDs or bendies are added, there is a press release on service improvement, but when DDs/bendies are removed from a particular route, no reason is given. I do expect there to be a notice at least for 2A, 151A as they had issued one for 133M.
I am surprised 2A is withdrawn considering a big load of 2 is between Loyang and Bedok.
i hope this is not part of the 40 new bus routes they have promised us within the next 5 years?!

in singapore, we hear only the good stories/news
Will 43 still continue to have 4 DDs deployed?

Too early to tell since 43 have 3 new DD perm, totaling up to 7 DDs on 43.
Maybe SBST trying to persuade people to take 43 instead of 76 ans 70 ,for 76 had crowds from AMK and 70 had crowd from YCK.

I just saw on sgwiki that 43 has 3 new DDs. Yeah - that means there is a good reason that 43 is doing well on DDs.
I also see a few DDs are taken off 95, 97 and 107 and have been added to 28, 80.

97 deserves DD but doesn't need that many.

all just sbs and their crappy short trips...
Sv72 has a 2 more trips added to its new timetable and both are wab slots. Wonder could it be a fleet add or crossover.

I think it is 2 buses that crossover like AMDEP 72/??? like that... High chance CDGE.
Low chance WEG since 72 didnt have any perm like 43.
Sv 151A removal.. 151e bus now do longer AM S duty... PM only 1 1/2 trip & 151e? lol

the 72A bus does full trips of 72 during PM peak, explaining the extra trips.

the 151e duty that does 151A, now does a return trip from Kent Ridge to Hougang on its last AM s shift portion, then like with the other 2 buses, do a half trip from Hougang during pm peak before 151e.

I don't find thes short working trips crappy.
At least SBST did do their homework to do something to improve their bus services.
72 needed extra trips. The load is high from YCK to Hougang Ave 3 as well from Tampines Int to Tampines Road. The only area where the bus doesnt have much loading is Tampines road itself, as people do not prefer to take it due to the # of stops and slow driving on Tampines road.
SBS needs to remove a few stops on this road as there are no people boarding or alighting and speed up the run time.
