My point is
They prefer the single-decked short trip method (27A, 36A) over the deployment of DD on the entire route to the airport
With short trips, there is no need for DD

SBS8743M on 27, Changi Airport T1 Diversion.

53 has high loading from Bishan to Serangoon and again Serangoon to Pasir Ris (though frequency is 05 minutes)
I agree we need a DD-friendly bus interchange, and not one in the basement which is inconvenient.

Not really true.
53 queues within the airport, especially T3 can be quite long sometimes.

53's demand stretches from CGA to Serangoon to be honest, the only reason why it seems that it's only packed from Serangoon as what '5010P' said is because the bus infront has picked up all the pax, the bus behind which you see has caught up even though it's not late.
Not that I want to contradict myself, but more than once if the queue for 53 stretches beyond the holding berth with the metal railings, even a Citaro can still pack in the pax with some space to spare. They shortened the length of the railings after the upgrade of the CGA basements.

I see 53 high demand from Lorong Ah Soo to Bishan - the bus almost gets empty at Serangoon and gets again fully loaded at the same stop. More than 50% of its route.

Who is happy with the short trips? Yet, everyone is complaining that they cannot get into 27 at Punggol way... The demand is perfect for DD.

I suggest introducing new service 27M.
It starts from Hougang Int but then skips all the bus stops until Punggol, where it starts and follows 27's route until Tampines Int, where it loops in the interchange. I took 27 today, from Hougang to Changi and back [ for fun ] and realized that the crowd starts at Buangkok MRT and ends at Tampines Simei for AM Peak, same goes to the other way round for PM Peak. Like this, it doesn't need to use the 27's buses but can have a fleet for its own.
And, oh yeah, Service 43A is a huge success. Finally seeing a wright full on 43.

Not every service needs short trips and you need to consider whether there is enough BCs for short trips.
Should put bendy bus and buy Citaro Gs!!! Stop at departure hall with Citaro so nice and european, best with Citaro G!!!!

There's a reason why there is a downroute straight from PIE starting its trip from Loyang Avenue after it exits PIE towards Bishan at 0655hrs on Weekdays.
