Airport PTB1 bus stop relocated to T1 departure hall

Relocation started at abt 1330...
Road works on the basement...
Bus routing: Exit T3 basement > turn right to T3 exiting driveway/ keep right > inverted U-turn to T1 > T1 Departure Hall (Bus stop beside T2 skytrain station) > T1 - T2 inverted U-turn link > T2 driveway > T2 Bus Int.

Experienced this on 27 just now. It was so much nicer to have bus services call at the departure drop-off. They should have done that for Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 as well. Much nicer than the dark and stuffy basements.

Rather public buses terminate at T1 coach bay.Coach bay will be at basement

There was a TI uncle at T1 temp bus stop recording rego and service...

Took 36 just now and the route in fact is amended. But BCs have to drive a long way out from T3 to ECP and from ECP, all the way to T1. But it bypasses the underground short tunnel which reminds me of the days where public buses still ply there before T3 opens.
I like the idea of the buses berthing at the arrival hall, which should be implemented at all terminals instead of the 3 underground terminals which are dark, stuffy and with height restrictions. Else 24, 27, 36 and 53 can use double deckers.

This arrangement is gonna last till the end of this month !
When I took SV 34 at around 1500 hrs yesterday, the bus turned into T2 after coming out from T3. It totally bypassed T1. And there was an army of bus inspectors directing the buses as well.

if this arrangement of berthing at departure hall turns out to be appealing and does not have negative impact on traffic, it may even go permanent
let this be a trial instead to gather feedback..

basement is dangerous and stuffy...many near accidents before...the design is poor and outdated...dunno why the new T3 still adopts this kind of stupid bus berthing design at the basement

Buses stopping at the arrival hall can be the best decision taken, if LTA approves. Then the problems on 27, 36, 53 for not having DDs and 858 for not having bendy can be resolved.
As many have posted, the basements are really stuffy. The # of routes plying the airport are not many - so it wont really cause traffic jams if the buses stop at arrival halls, but will encourage more people to take the buses.
Hope the feedback is +ve and we see some DDs on 27, 36 and 53.

the temporary arrangement of berthing at departure hall is for alighting only...no boarding allowed at T1, passengers at T1 who want to take bus have to go to T2 or T3 via skytrain

thanks to this incident, bendy buses is sort of barred from Airport... diversion road bend too sharp... lol

Okay went to the Airport just now, very fun ride.
lol height clearence at Departure hall is 4.0M. DDs also sort of barred from Airport, can convert to open top bus already..
