I am wondering on which new routes would the new 550 Wrights be deployed on.
The Batch 1 and 2 are replacing the Leyland Olympians, but I believe the 550 is fleet expansion.
The bus numbers that are coming to my mind are 113, 293 apart from adding more DDs to other routes.
Do you see any new routes getting DDs???
Not 39 or 85 at this stage. Must wait till 2017.
Hopefully by then SBST would start getting KUDs in large numbers.
If the demand and route condition warrant,Yes they at least get some.Must remember there's VO3X Batch 1,2,3,LOs,VO2Xs,Then if they think Tridents and VSOs have to go earlier in 2-3 years time who knows.550 units is safekeep.SBST target is to get full WAB buses in future,No more B10Ms etc leh
The B10Ms have a good capacity though. 51 seats compared to the new SDs that have only 31-36 seats. But yes if those routes are replaced with the Wrights - nothing like it.
Capacity yes no doubt B10Ms or any non WAB won but have to follow LTA standard leh friend. If LTA doesnt implement full low floor buses think SBST and SMRT would venture more Low entry buses which can carry more pax than low floor.SMRT made a huge mistake for not purchasing 300 or more OCs or other Low entry buses...
I am still wondering which would be the new routes to get DDs.... like this time around in service improvements, it was 90 and 109.
Should i say 94 during peaks?11 should start from Eunos and loop at Stadium.
550 new Wrights are replacing Volvo Olympians batch 1 and 2..
Not all 550 are for fleet expansion..

I agree 11 should start at Eunos. 11 from Lor Geylang has hardly any takers. Eunos Int can accommodate also.
I thought someone said Batch 1 & 2 are replacing Leyland and Volvo and these are for fleet expansion, but makes sense considering DTL, there might not be need for so much fleet expansion.

What's the point of routing it to Eunos when we're talking trunk/ feeder network?
Even if there's MRT, the bus network would still expand. In fact, we're actually literally underserved because of the population growth, car population growth and public tpt/ fleet growth...

Then what abt the VO2x, VO3x???

Hey bro - I never said 74 is low demand. I said opposite side demand is low and if we SBST wants to put B10Ms, then it should do it in a way that for eg: In evening peak, all DDs are plying from BNV to HG and the B10Ms from HG to BNV (if that is possible). That's what I meant.
If you see the beginning of the high loading bus routes thread, I myself, have included 74 as top 5 high loading bus routes. So dunno where this is coming from that I said 74 is low demand.

Bro, if really 11 is to be extended to Eunos ar... Then I might as well extend buses like 69 to Eunos as well...
Really serious, maybe Sims Place more practical... lol
I have always been the champion for a full DD fleet for 74 courtesy of its outrageous all-day loading.
But never once have I had the courage/cheek/however-you-call-it, to claim that 74 is within the top 5.
Because I acknowledge myself to have inadequete information.
And get this.
101 does not need DD. I dont know why a mere mention of it by me and now discussions are now on whether 101 shld have DD.
And also get this: If 101 doesnt get DD, I'm sure as hell, 113 need 0 DDs.

whatever the case is, I guess you've too concentrated yourself onto finding the peak demand load
W/o realising the scheduling tricky mess, what places e bus passes by etc..

You are too smart, man or rather OVER smart.
You flatter me.
74's show cause for full DD fleet is all because even I find it not easy to find a slot to nicely place the B10M... 1 round trip is easily 4 hrs alrdy.
101, 113 does not need ADD.. true it has high loading, but it's not as high as other svs... More so, 113's freq is alrdy 15 mins... and BSEP requires bus sv either to be < 85% or below 12 mins (the next 10%)... so figure this out...

Ya Lor,Extend to Sims Pl more better..At least got friend with 64.Then old folks can take to Aljunied MRT,Geylang and National Std.69 should extend to Eunos ah,Can better.
True Lor 101 doesn't justified for DDs as for now.

69 is more a TP bus sv wo.. lol
Seriously, if talking abt eastern corridor neighbour svs, then 18 better can extend least to Eunos or Geylang Lor 1...
more because 67 is likely going to adversely affected by DTL...
Ya Lor lol,18 better who knows they can kope some loads along d way to Tampines?67 I think shortened to Lor 1 in future.

The demand of svc 113 builds up every 5 minutes at Kovan stn.. And the peak hour frequency at Kovan station is 7-9 mins. E.g 113 arrives at Kovan stn at 630pm,113A arrives at Kovan station at 638pm, like a cycle. But every bus of 113/113A have standees and most of the time full to the door loads even when there is 113A helping to cope the load.

101 can't get dds due to turning restriction right? I think dds can't make a roundabout there. Abit unstable may topple I think.

ur so called demand build up every 5 min is nothing compare to other high crush loading trunk svc...
in fact, which svc passing by a mrt station or bus interchange will not get full during peak hr one???
if u still consider 113 a semi-feeder route, go take a look at other feeder/intratown routes like 241,291,806,911 during their peak hr.. even they use high loading bus like double deck/bendy also full to the door lor
