DD is usually the last resort. They beef up the frequency first to see if SDs can cope,
if cannot..then DD will come in

39 already operating for almost 1 decade with SDs
85 for 6 years...
85 got greater potential for DD when punggol and sengkang get more developed
as for 39, when SUTD opens in Upp Changi Road East, we may see many students using 39 to get to Yishun

Yeah. Fleet add only in 2006, when SBS9325E with Epson ad came in, which is the first HGDEP DD to perm 161..
39 always have long queues in Yishun interchange during morning peak hours, so definately need 1 or 2 DDs at this timing.
85, highly likely in future, when Sengkang West and Punggol are more developed. 85 can also be extended to Yishun East to help in reducing the overloadings of Yishun feeders while fully make use of the DDs.

If you look properly for the past 5 month's of cameo spotting. You can see quite abit of KUB Cameos for 179.....

Even today, 39 can be made DD by making it halt at 811 berth at Yishun or looping at Yishun and coming back to Tampines.

39 can only get DDs when the BCs can learn to get their asses moving and not dragging their buses at 35km/h throughout the ride.
85, no. Never see full SD on peak b4. All take 965 transfer 82/83/372.

965 has HORRIBLE frequency.
I can wait one 965 for 25 mins straight at 4-6pm towards Sengkang. Where got 10 mins? If got so frequent my grandmother fly ah...
I refuse to take 965.
I thought taking 965 was the fastest way to Sembawang from Sengkang.
That was in theory.
Actually 161 -> Train turned out to be a much better choice.....for the sake of sanity.
And 965 also tends to drive slowly, making the ride experience with its already erratic wait even worse.
