I was on bus svc 113 today and i overheard 2 SBST bcs chatting over work issues.
BC A mentioned that driving feeder bus routes is much more relaxing and not as gan chiong as driving trunk routes. She also mentioned that she will be applying to drive svc 325. Most importantly, there are OT jobs available and more wage bonus of course.
so if bcs wan apply for the particular bus svc, is confirm can one?
and one of the bc of tht service she is applying for will be "traded" with her own bus svc?

Theres no such thing as driving feeder the bonus is higher than trunk ones.Think the BC is newbie.

sometimes got festive eves or special occasions feeder bus svcs includ. 325 will get extended.. so i think got extra wages la, cause operate till 2am.

372 never get extended when there is LRT
Drive bigger capacity buses maybe more pay, else all the same.

unlike last time when they use different bus types to distinguish between the two (feeder has inferior buses, mostly NAC and very few DDs)
the numbering system is also in a mess, especially SBS routes
6, 11, 42, 60, 83, 84, 91, 94, 95, 96, 112, 113, 115, 179, 181, 191, 194, 199, 964
the above routes are even shorter than some townlink / industrial services

Feeder and townlink routes are easily differenciated out.
Trunk services usually have a number of 1 - 200 and 400 - 405.
Feeder are usually have a number of 201 - 245, 258 - 399 and 410.
Parks services are 406 - 409.
Premium and express services are placed with a value > 500 .
For SMRT, it is extremely messy.

Merge feeders and Townlink became trunk, forcing people to pay more
220,226,227,237,274,290,294,321,322,326,327,328,331,357,371,382,385 > replaced by trunk services

All thanks to the closure of Hougang South Int and NEL
in the 80-90s, they use older buses for feeder
one look at the bus type and u immediately know it's feeder...applies to both SBS and TIBS
these days even citaros are used on feeder
and Mk 4 DM / strider used on trunk instead
for TIBS, citaros on 920 and 922 and DAF on 985, alamak!
