how much more buses can you add at Tampines?
You bendy haters always focus on the cons and never focus on the pros. There are more pros than you think there is
P.S. This was NOT supposed to be a flame-war site. Sigh...
Pros
1. Faster
2. Better Acceleration
3. Faster Boarding and Alighting( little bit only)
4. Higher Capacity( little bit only)
5. Elderly friendly for seniors who dread stairs on DDs
6. Can be used on services with height clearance like 67,960,700 and 176
7. Can be used on feeder services
Cons
1. Overheats easily
2. Bad at doing 3-point turns, reverse turns and sharp turns
3. Takes up slightly more road space(will you people STOP complaning)
4. Takes up slightly more parking space
Faster in wat sense?
Fast acceleration? For what in urban areas? Speed control is more important.
In fact reminds me an incident some days back... At RTC bus stop.. S190 bendy just accelerate out of bus stop forcefully exiting though there was cars along the road... There was cars ended up nearing side swipe as the tail moves out...
This topic was meant for the bendy fans to share their thoughts. It wasn't meant for people to argue about bendy vs dd.
i'm not stopping you from arguing your views I mean just see the topic carefully and try to argue at some other topic...
why everytime i create a bendy topic you guys rush in and argue without even knowing the purpose of the topic?
Ello...
you've not answered my question..
accleration is not the factor in urban driving... Speed control is... This applies to all vehicles on the road..
and how you know abt the hate bendy issue and you believe it... new nick somemore
Ppl alrdy say many times is infrastructure, you take it personal...
now now now...
501 = 228/ 666.. but a so called pleasant troll to play their purpose???
somemore dun understand speed control... and take it personal...
I already stated clearly no negative remarks about bendies allowed!
Ans: Sometimes the buses can be too slow like a KUB crawling on the expressway. It's not as if I want all vehicle to go 90km/h! 70km/h is more than enough already.
Eh hello I have no connection with 228/666 okay?
I also never say citaro here citaro there rite?!!

i know it's the infrastructure and I never have any objection!
I also understand speed control. But some buses are still very slow!
SMRT bendy buses is nice. May be SMRT should try out MAN bendy bus but anything to go by coming years there will be no bendy bus when all the old bendy life spend ended. most likey MAN A22 buses or Citaro non bendy. if a 15m tri-axle bus appear on SMRT service that not be suprise already sbst had one volvo bus of the same type.

Just ignore them like you see trolls, They always love to complain.
The case is clear. These kind of facts are very common in our society, They've failed to see it.

Citaro L 14.5m is only 8-10 seats more might as well buy 2 axles DD with higher power rating like HK B9TL 310 or AD E400 with 320hp.Look I'm not a bendy hater k but like what others say and by judging the new BIs they dun favour bendies at all.If SMRT wanna limit their bendies(200 units) in future it's their problem but the clear picture is there. If they can buy 200 MANs now I can't see why they can't buy 50 WAB bendies to replace the MK I bendies but chose to refurbish them till lifespan end?See SMRT loves to be 1st in anything but still uncertain to buy WAB bendies..If they trial 1 by this year then I keep my mouth shut.Do you know why on off days I always go either Kj or Am?
If they die2 wanna bendies then svc like 969,960,172,187 should loop outside SBST interchanges which I doubt they will do
I see no reason why a full rigid fleet is better than a rigid fleet with bendies. Bendies really can really solve many problems and some people just don't see it. This is not a debate but if I have to respond,I will. The person who created this topic and the person responding is my friend,we share the same account and he has said nothing offending since you all are so called "not bendy haters". So,why did this argument start in the first place?

Err...brother, SMRT is different from SBST, since SMB is new transport logo, buses are supposed to be imported in numerical order starting from SMB1H, you can't import SMB389P readily until all the MAN buses have been delivered yeah.
The most possible top choice for SMRT's future bendies is Citaro G (assuming there will be importing of WAB bendies)
Or do you think SMRT will import other type of bendies? Post here if you have different thoughts.
One more thing, this thread is a bendy bus fan club, if you want to post bad things of bendies then this is the wrong place, at least post in other threads but not here!

39 buses in Service 190, out of which 27 are bendies.
Assuming bendies can carry 3/2 times of passengers as compared to standard rigids,
You probably need 40 rigids leh, that means 52 buses in one single service!
Buses come in only 5 minutes can be packed already, so what about rigid buses?
Furthermore, SMRT bendies are the only available public bendies currently in Singapore. But this is not my point, the point is that this can reduce manpower and fuel consumption.
You may want to say that SMRT can import bus captains from China, but the thing is: Who, at the first place, likes to be a bus captain. They got to work long hours and don't get to rest even when they are sitting down cos they got to concentrate on driving the bus. Otherwise, many Singaporeans will have applied for jobs as a bus captain liao. Don't you agree?
