It's more to planning lar,SMRT bus only 3 depots the most 850 buses SBST 7 depots with 3000 buses and with SMRT greed under SPH last time where do the spare buses go last time?Ikea and RWS shuttle la,At least 20 buses are use for these shuttles as its permanent basis.IMHO bus plus also must be activate during the crisis beside sub con buses..They can't forever depend on SBST for bus bridging sia.Another lesson for them for not build a new bigger depot.Kim Chuan there can built an open space enough for 200 buses anytime.AM?They must be joking its mere bigger than SJE depot leh..Really goondoo of SMRT.
Communication problems most come from PRC drivers leh.Even normal Singaporean Malays or Indians can speak basic English that can be understood

Bendies can be confined to feeders and intratowns and maybe short trunks if its a must. Double deckers are slightly better for trunk services. The amount of a double decker spends at a bus bay is still an issue though, any passenger boarding who wants to go to the upper deck must wait for other passengers who are alighting to climb down the staircase first. A very acute problem for DDs, so acute I think bendies are sometimes better than DDs, can siam out of the bus stop faster

huh?you forgot abt how many 12m bus can be in bus stop bay doing boarding/ alighting at any time vs 1 bendy bus...

happened at Pending Rd bus stop.. most would know how cramp it is, esp the one bef the LRT Stn
Happens 184/ 960 combi... lots of NP students were boarding... the 960 at the back didn't want to wait... ppl walk up and alight ppl (by right it's not even suppose to)... next thing, siam out...
very next moment, I saw someone at the front of the bus stop intending to take 960...
Or even seeing 961 trying to siam out from 7th Mile bus stop... heck care whether there was ppl walking up from the front section of the long bus stop unless someone go flag... peak hr somemore
let me say this.. buses aren't supposed to siam out just like that.... So that theory of siam out faster is bending the rules alas testing the system...

Somemore like Bt Timah 7th Mile bus stop...
So many buses, now say 66, 174 all use bendy... I think the bus queue can stretch to KAP alrdy during the peak hrs...
To he!! w/ all the micro thinking saying how good bendies are... When you macro it, bendies are just useless jam creating buses... worst during MRT disruption which is why COI pointed it out..

Or the other way round for AMK Ave 5/ 10/ 3 order...
Either way, bendy bus will create more problems at AMK Ave 3 busy bus lane...
Not surprising, cos many kids here never see how peak hr bus volume can die...

Finally this problem has been highlighted. I hope SMRT will seriously consider switching to double deckers to vastly improve their bus services in future.

Just look at the jams caused by bendy buses along the bus lane outside Yishun Northpoint, Yishun interchange, Woodlands interchange and Chua Chu Kang interchange. Ironically, those bus interchanges like Sembawang, Bukit Panjang and Bukit Batok with no or a few bendies do not have so much of such jams and queues problems.
And it is not cost and operational wise to operate so many kinds of buses for SMRT.
So just stop using bendies. Had enough of them.

If SMRT depots has only 12m buses only, they can hold up to 1000 buses to improve their bus services. Bendies just take too much spaces to hold up the spaces to park more buses.

Not just other car users, but other BCs driving buses find them a nuisance as well. And they road hog too much, imagine a emergency vehicle is in the hurry, how long has it have to wait for the bendy bus to cut lane before it can move forward??? If ambulance, I think the casualty will have to wait long (or can wait) before reaching the hospital.
To those who want bendies like mad:
- Please think. Our roads, infrastructures, density living cannot support such long buses in the long run. Yes, each kind of buses, SDs, DDs and bendies will have their short comings. But we must understand that our land and infrastructures are limited and the population is still growing. We have to choose the better options to solve the problem, not choosing something that gives much more problems.

I passed by Northpoint bus stop everyday and there's not much jams. Even if have, it is caused by private buses, cars or the full loading of Service 969. Bendies unloads very fast at that stop, as there's no one boards from there...
