Actually 195 is not a big deal. The load is a bit unmanageable from Telok Blangah Way to Tiong Bahru Plaza.
The SD can take load in Depot Road and Alexandra Road. If you see the peak loading from Commonwealth Drive to Depot road, around 60 pax (which I agree is not convenient).

Boon Lay Interchange has almost all routes that are high loading and seemingly this will just go on increasing considering in the coming years.

195 whole route doesn't warrant the use of bendy buses, as I have said before, most part of the roads and bus stops it plies along is small and narrow. Bendy buses takes up too much space and hinders other buses and vehicles along these roads and bus stops. And only part of 195 route has very high demands. And Buona Vista terminal is too small for bendy buses, so bendy buses are deemed useless for 195. There is no need to transfer to SMRT. Better if they take care of their own services, which many are still bad.
A better idea is to divert 275 from Bukit Merah to Tiong Bahru to Telok Blangah Way. Anyway, Telok Blangah WAy has no height restrictions.
Depot Road maybe has but it is up to LTA and NParks to work together to place the trees more away form the roads or plant bigger trees. If LTA bothers about further improving public transport in the first place.
I am very sure Telok Blangah Way has height restrictions. I've been there often and even observed how low those branches are. The most dangerous ones are the trees that are located just after the bus stops. I've compared it's height to a regular SD and concluded that DDs can't ply Telok Blangah Way at all. Same case for Henderson and Depot Rd, but not so jialat.
Doesn't matter... Even if Telok Blangah way could accept DDs, the fact that both Bukit Purmei and Henderson road cannot use DDs, this road's height limitation is insignificant.
If Henderson road can ply DDs, it will be good, because then 145 can get DDs and then, there would be no need for 145A and long wait times during peak hours.
We speak so much about 195, but I feel 145 is the route that really needs DDs given it has high loading in many areas on its route.

Just to tell you, Bt Purmei Ave doesn't have height limitations and the u-turn should be wide enough for a DD to turn, correct me if I'm wrong.
If like that, look at how many height restrictions svc131 has.
Bt Purmei Ave(If it's true)
Telok Blangah Way
Henderson Rd
Pei Kio Estate
I dunno how to solve 131's problem...

I wouldn't worry too much about 131 or even trying to solve its problems. Here are the reasons:
1. Too many height restrictions
2. Route 21 (50% fleet DD is parallel in route from Whompoa to Novena)
3. From Thomson / Novena, people coming to Little India or Bras Basah, would prefer to take 56, 57, 166 as they are direct while 131 has a big loop where it goes to estates on Rangoon Road / Castle Green. It operates more like a feeder here for Novena and Little India stations, and the loading is fit for a SD (I have analyzed this route 2-3 times during peak)
4. There is a 131A to Shenton Way to clear the crowds during morning peak 3-4 high loading trips
5. 131 has 145 in parallel from Keppel / Vivocity to Henderson Road.
So instead of trying to work around 131, I would prefer to work on 145 which has many high loading segments.
145 High Loading (Morning peak)
RedHill >>> Henderson Road
Henderson Road >>> CBD
Balestier Road >>> Toa Payoh
(Evening peak)
Henderson Road >>> Balestier Road (Full high loading stretch)

They need to do something about the trees along Henderson road, that's all.
Then 145 can use DDs.

Yup, but someone mentioned that those rain trees along Depot Rd, Telok Blangah Way and mainly Henderson Rd are conserved trees, so I think NEA won't suka suka trim them down. Someone has to go email NEA if they want to trim them or locate them further from the roads, or just plant bigger trees instead of those rain trees with low and long hanging branches.
However, if you trim them, the centre of gravity shifts to the middle part, and a strong wind might even blow them down. That's what I think.
I feel like I had just watched a re-run of "Mind your language". Where nobody understands anybody.
1. That somebody had been pulling your leg. Conserved trees along those roads?
2. The second para is just......

sbst191 was just being sarcastic :-)
TIB 501D you can post your high loading areas of bus routes here. It is the same topic. Also we need to mention the time of the day and direction.
For instance.
Svc 7
Morning peak: Guillemard Road to Somerset Road & Ullu Pandan Road to Orchard Road
Evening peak: Just do the opposite.
some services quite straight forward. A->B AM Peak, inverse for PM Peak.
Some services are not so straightforward. Its due to the pm peak nature that commuting patterns change.
Sv 7 is one of them.
Shall post here instead.

Can you elaborate your point? Or rather express the Svc 7 loading pattern as per your analysis.

intra CBD demand between napier/orchard and bugis, more in this direction than the other direction. something which am peak does not have.
