Do what?

Most irritating svc ever, i suggest DDs, but Telok Blangah Way and Depot Rd got height restriction, ammending its route will not do...
But i suggest 195 transfer to SMRT and get AMDEP control. Then deploy bendies but ammend 32 instead of 195 to ply C'wealth Dr. SBS999U did 195 few years ago before it was sold to New Zealand.
Thanks to BusAnalyzer for giving me the idea by suggesting 48 and 66 to transfer to SMRT, I wish 195 follows suit. And a lot of ppl have been complaning about sv195 recently...
195 cannot use DDs or Bendies unfortunately.
I agree with most of your loading analysis at Jalan Bukit Merah. SMRT really needs to upgrade its buses and introduce DDs in its fleet.

Why 195 cannot use bendies? Doesn't TIB501D said that 195 used bendies before right before your post?
It cannot turn into Commonwealth Drive - too narrow. Do you know 195's route?

198 high loading
PM Peak (Direction BMR - Boon Lay)
Full route high loading
(Direction Boon Lay - BMR)
From Boon Lay to Jurong East Ave 1 (Jurong Polyclinic) - the bus has max 20 pax from Jurong Town Hall road to BMR.

When 195 used bendies before, it is also plying this route and yet it can use bendies.

But why SBS999U was assigned to 18 and 290 in the end instead of staying with 195 and not even bring in SBS998Y together??? Obviously the trial failed.
I suggest LTA and NEA to do something about the trees along Telok Blangah Way and Depot Rd, like moving them further waway from the kerbside or replace them with bigger and shadier trees.
But at least SBST is getting 450 more Citaros, so I'm sure 195 frequencies will be improved.
I saw SBS2637B on 65 for 2 consecutive days. Is this repeat cameo, or are we saying that 65 is no longer full fleet DD and has a SD introduced on it now?
I was expecting this to happen in 2017, not in 2012 for godsake!!!!!!

SBS1000U answered your point, so I'll just say +1

Have you seen the Yishun Street 71 turn? I think about the same as Commonwealth Drive..

195 should just skip C'wealth Dr and let 32 ply there, if 195 is transferred to SMRT(if only). SBS999U trial failed due to C'wealth Dr so 195 should just skip if it wants to have bendies.

Dont forget that SBST will gain some routes in Bukit Panjang due to DTL.
Same as when NEL opened, SMRT handed 865, 866 and 867 over to SBST.
Most likely 190 back to SBST and hope 195 go SMRT.

I don't think there will be a route transfer again like what it was in the past. It was deemed too messy.
And all the above mentioned services initially do not belong to SMRT/TIBS at all, including Sengkang services. They were all transferred to TIBS in the mid 90s for no apparent reason, which results in Northwest residents now have to suffer under the poor bus services of SMRTB. I do not want another SBST service to suffer the kind of same fate. And it makes it worse if SMRT takes over the service, as they can't even manage the current services well. It doesn't mean SMRT will also use bendy bus for the route, as the bus stops along the route are small and some roads like Commnwealth Ave are too narrow. The sharp turns will one day lead to a jack knife situation on the articulator.

If a bus route is to be rerouted for the sake of bendy buses and causing more inconvenience for commuters, then I will rather LTA to remove all bendy buses from all services immediately.
Bus services are there for the sake of commuters convenience of getting from one point to another point, not for the sake of catering certain types of buses.
195's huge loading is mainly in two sectors:
Tiong Bahru Plaza to Telok Blangah Way (here you can see people getting cramped to get in - this is the main area where DD is useful)
Depot Road to Queenstown Station

I know. I am saying that it is the part where DDs are worthy for this route but cannot. The whole route doesn't have high loading.

Its 864, 865 and 866..
And its TIBS, not SMRT.
Those service were handed when SBS won NEL in 1999.
NEL opened in 2003.
The reason why I say 195 get transferred to SMRT and get bendies is because...
1. It can skip C'wealth Dr and terminate at Buona Vista Ter.
2. If you ammend it's route to ply Telok Blangah Rd straight to Alexandra Rd, the link between Queenstown MRT to Depot Rd and from there to Tiong Bahru will cut off, but it does provide a link from Tiong Bahru to Harbourfront without having to transfer from EWL to NEL.
But really, I also did say that 190 and 106 should be transferred to SBST, so I'm not a total SMRT fanboy. And many people are also complaning about 195's loading and headway. And 195 can't have DDs unless it ammends its route mentioned in point 2, but links will cut off, as I said.

195 whole route doesn't warrant the use of bendy buses, as I have said before, most part of the roads and bus stops it plies along is small and narrow. Bendy buses takes up too much space and hinders other buses and vehicles along these roads and bus stops. And only part of 195 route has very high demands.
And Buona Vista terminal is too small for bendy buses, so bendy buses are deemed useless for 195. There is no need to transfer to SMRT. Better if they take care of their own services, which many are still bad.
A better idea is to divert 275 from Bukit Merah to Tiong Bahru to Telok Blangah Way. Anyway, Telok Blangah WAy has no height restrictions.
Depot Road maybe has but it is up to LTA and NParks to work together to place the trees more away form the roads or plant bigger trees. If LTA bothers about further improving public transport in the first place.
