That RD plate king Long hybrid vehicle is defintely not the one, so it is this vehicle.
How sure are you? Are you a staff working in SBST?
Your sources are outdated. It was dated back in 2010.
It's already 2012 now. They might have made the decision not to trial this bus anymore. And it might be sold or awaiting to be sold another private operator like the OC500 demo.
And the Sunlong hybrids aren't doing well. The mechanics have been facing a lot of problems during its period of operations. Thus the 2 buses are rarely in service these days.
Also the seats at the front section on the King Long I photographed are lower than the bus in that appendix, so its definitely different.

i based my guess on the other unit that's from sv966 page photo which is a known hybrid and that RD plate vehicle is still around, Basing on the exterior similarities. The source may be outdated, and both our discussions are on guesswork now. And no i'm not a sbst staff or affiliated to any transport company. Btw, how did you get to know about the Sunlong's supposed a lot of problems being faced by the mechanics?

So all these are just speculation from another person's page which is an outdated source.
I know people.

who doesn't know people *shrugs shoulders*. I know people too. I know a few dogs and monkeys to, but that's besides the point.

Tis a forum, where speculation and discussion is open. Not for people to argue with one other whether one source or other is reliable or not. This is not a bleeding history exam. So if you find a source unreliable, take it with a pinch of salt or morphine and at least speak nicely..

I am just telling him not to assume when the sources are already outdated.
And I am answering his 2nd question in regards to his Sunlong bus related questions.
You are the one intruding the conversion with your rude retorts. Childish

Hopefully all alternative propulsion buses optiosn from MAN, Volvo and Merc are on the table. I'm sure they'll perform better than the MIC buses and be easier to maintain (SMB135E and SMB137A were allegedlly giving mechanics headaches, don't quote me on this)
I did mention as a reply 3 months back that AdBlue is needed to meet emissions standards for the engine. A Euro 3 engine that is used in a hybrid bus will still be a Euro 3 engine. Adding AdBlue into the exhaust system will help it to achieve the Euro 4/5 Emissions Standards required.
As for buses MIC, all of the demonstrators from china till date have their drivetrain and road components designed and made by western companies such as Cummins, ZF, Eaton or Dana. Even the communications system is using CANBUS and not some chinese standard. They simply integrated them all into a final product and now we call that MIC.
Have anyone whos criticising actually taken a REAL Chinese public bus, with leaf springs, drum brakes, chinese manual gearbox, and chinese engines (e.g. yuchai engines)? If not, please kindly experience one of those before commenting.

I know the internet - hence my sources. i'm not saying that's 100% reliable, but it gives a clue. And as mentioned by the kiwi bus fan, it's a discussion.

Bus fans here only wants new European buses..
Even the good old buses like LO3X, B10M and VO3X also they don't like..Aircon too weak la, engine too hot la..bla bla bla
Still want them to bring in MIC buses? Confirm they will treat like shit..
Later 10 years later, they gonna say Wrights and Citaros are crappy...
Bus fans nowdays..

I agree on the old buses point. I still appreciate the LO3X, B10M and VO3X even if they are old. They are certainly the best buses from the 90s that provide us comfortable rides for almost 20 years.
But the SMRT ones are terribly maintained, even some of the bus models are good.

yes, which is a diesel unit, i checked the king long website and i dont think its a diesel hybrid...
update: i checked 1M on Transtar's King Long XMQ6121G, its a diesel unit, no motors unlike SMB137A. assuming its the exact same model as the one SBST got, the SBST King Long XMQ6121G is a DIESEL unit and NOT a diesel-electric hybrid unit
Here are some things to highlight:
1. Radiator positioning of the sbst unit is exactly the same as the white king long hybrid which is on the offside. On the Transtar's KL, its on the nearside, and much bigger in size.
2. There is approximately 50-80cm of storage area between the last seat and the rear of the bus, which results in no rear windows. Again, both sbst's unit and the white king long hybrid shares this feature. The area is likely used to store batteries within. The transtar's KL does not have this storage area, and there are seats installed until the very end.
3. The white king long hybrid has side panels which can be opened located after the front axle. Their purpose is also to store the batteries. This again is demonstrated on sbst's unit, and non existant on the transtar's examples.
4. STEGG's FY2010 Annual Report as mentioned by buses[in]gapore
Everyone is welcomed to verify the facts, and draw upon your own conclusions.
As for myself, based on the above facts and making an educated guess, i would say it shares enough similarties with the white demonstrator unit to say that this sbst unit is also a diesel-electric hybrid, and not a pure diesel.

aye so the batteries are stored under the seats? unlike the initial king long hybrid, this one has a flat floor for the front part of the bus.

Just to add on to your observations, i saw the side facing seats after the right front wheel mounted on a "box" platform (seats mounted directly on the platform). Might be the batteries. It's still a low entry unit with zero step floor at the front half to exit door. i wasn't able to see if there's any similar box on the side facing seats behind the left wheel.
King Long so unreliable!!! Front bumper gone because everytime breakdown need tow!!! Lucky only colour livery up, no SBS words, or else SBS reputation will be tarnished badly!!! This bus already had problems 4 times!!! Lucky SBS buy citaros!!! If SBS want to become 'stupid' and register this bus, should cameo it one time on 1 service the most and make it perm museum bus!!! OMFG MIC buses really do suck!!!!!
