This is a special thread created in the memories of MKIIIs. As they are leaving soon, MKIII lovers may post their memories, pictures, or anything positive related to MKIII here. Mods, PLS SPARE A THOUGHT AND LEAVE THIS THREAD OPEN till mid-June when the MKIIIs are gone. Thx.

Ok, so the MKIIIs are leaving soon. I know all of us will have good memories of these buses and will miss them a lot. It is just so sad to see them go, although MKIIIs did make me quite irriteted for a few times, I still loved them as they are like childhood brotherhood to me.
Here, I shall exclusively post my last pics of MKIIIs as a final grand tribute to the MKIIIs who have served and dedicated to us for the past two decades. These pictures feature:
SBS847A in HGDEP (awaiting de-registration)
SBS880C on 325
I, SMB128B, shall salute to these buses for the services they had given these years, and for how strong the MKIIIs are. I know it's hard to leave the MKIIIs, I will never forget them!!!
To end my post, I shall, with sadness yet pride, bid my last farewell to the MKIIIs. May the MKIIIs "revive" again in other countries and do as well as they did in Singapore!
SBS806T on Sv 163. This bus is replaced by SBS938X after bring laid up and de-registered.

It is irony on how you used ''Exclusive'' to describe the last batches of Mk3s.
Well, SBS880C is the ONLY MkIII still in revenue service in HOUGANG BUS INTERCHANGE.
With the dereg of the mk3, it also marks the end of the square side desto era for most of the services.
Still remember vividly my first mk3 ride was the 66* series on service 26 and i was super impressed by the exterior as it was the first few buses to have the tinted glass panels. A loyal and truly reliable servant, it will leave us with plenty of memories together with those de-reg Mercs and do catch them if you can for the remaining days
MKIII, MKIV DMs, Striders and DM3500 were the very comfortable purchases by SBS Transit, smooth engines, comfortable seats, etc. My favourite is still the DM3500s..
a pity that these few bus models are going to be phased out soon. will miss them much.

Come to think of it, it really is the end of the usuage of square-side destos except for some bus services that has ''white'' and ''red'' like 315 to mark the direction of the bus. Since the EDS are not programmed to display 315W/315R yet, they used the square-side destos as the numbers instead when they run out of back destos.

Pls read my post more carefully. I did get flamed at the MKIIIs some time back when 163 downgraded. Howeve MKIII is still forever one of my favourite.
And boy, I happen to pass by and ti my surprise saw SBS847A still alive and in good shape in HGDEP, so I decided to snap it becoz it will not be on the roads anymore.
Still rmb the times, when the MKIIIs are the F1RST AC SD in Singapore...
Now, they are going to be replaced by the F1RST full low floor buses in Asia...
Will miss the MK3s when they are gone, especially the great engine sound.

Scania N113CRB OAC's was the third AC SD in Singapore iirc, Mk III's fourth.

F1RST AC SD in Singapore is MERCEDES!!!!!
In terms of Air-Con SDs (exclude out the Leyland National & Renault as they are demo Air Con buses):
(1) Mercedes-Benz O303 (from former SABS)
(2) Nissan Diesel U31SCN
(3) Scania N113CRB (OAC)
(4) Mercedes-Benz O405 (WA & DM)
(5) Volvo B10M Mark III
So the Mk3 is in the 5th Air Con bus model to be introduced, not 4th.

Sorry but I want to know one thing:
Is the Volvo B10M MK1 (the demonstrator) NAC or OAC?
OAC

One of the last few MkIII's in HGDEP and the last perm on sv163. Some of these buses even did 163M in the afternoon. Likes its maroon colour interior like the seats and the ac panels.

Have you read his post properly? He said "SBS806T (formerly HGDEP 163) was replaced after being de-registered."
