Still one problem lies though...
Shortage of space...
But will probably not be a problem once the older bendies go to the junkyards or somewhere else

Good to see Daimler Benz being at the forefront of new emission technology.
There's a 394HP version? Wow.
What is the fuel comsumption like.?

New engines with great technical featuresWorking away at the back of this best-selling regular-service bus are some new engines. The six-cylinder in-line units with a displacement of either 7.7 or 10.7 litres deliver output ranging from 220 to 290 kW (299 to 394 hp). The tried and tested Mercedes-Benz SCR emission control system with AdBlue injection and closed-loop particulate filter is combined here with an exhaust gas recirculation system.The engines are characterised by a number of special technical highlights. The smaller power unit, for example, is the first diesel engine in the world to feature an adjustable exhaust camshaft. It injects fuel at a pressure of up to 2 400 bar – which is around a thousand times the pressure in a passenger car tyre. The larger six-cylinder engine features the unique X-PULSE injection system with pressure booster.Citaro: the cleanest regular-service bus with diesel engineThe new Citaro with Euro VI is the cleanest diesel-powered regular service bus. Optimised combustion processes and a complex emission control system reduce the emission of soot particles to just three percent of what was possible 20 years ago with Euro I. Emissions of nitrogen oxides have fallen to five percent.To accommodate the new engines and the complexities of the emission control system, the Citaro now features a new tail end design. The potential extra weight of Euro VI is compensated for here by a number of measures, ranging from a lightweight glass-fibre-reinforced plastic roof to a weight-optimised rear axle. As a result the payload, and thus the number of passengers who can be accommodated in the Citaro, remains unchanged.The new Citaro is rolling off the production line at the Mannheim plant. EvoBus GmbH produces urban buses, inter-city buses and touring coaches here with a workforce of around 3 500.6.4 litres 284hp/1120nm replace by 7.7litres 299hp/1200nm and 11.9 litres 299/354hp 1250/1600nm replace by 10.7 litres 394hp/1900nm.

I hope it won't be from a fake source like BIS again which will result in flame wars.
The information in this thread is true and comes directly from DaimlerChrysler.
The two new engines are the OM 936 h (7.698-litre) and OM 470 h (10.677-litre).
Outputs for the OM 936 h:
* 220kW (299 PS) @ 2200rpm, 1200Nm @ 1200-1600rpm
* 260kW (354 PS) @ 2200rpm, 1400Nm @ 1200-1600rpm
Outputs for the OM 470 h:
* 265kW (360 PS) @ 1800rpm, 1700Nm @ 1100rpm
* 290kW (394 PS) @ 1800rpm, 1900Nm @ 1100rpm
AdBlue consumption falls by 50% - down from 5% of diesel consumption to 2.5% of diesel consumption. Fuel consumption is a few percentage points better than Euro 5/EEV.

I'm relieved to hear that.

Of course it is from Daimler. What do you think if it is fake?

For my choice, I prefer the 260kW OM936h and 265kW OM470h. Perfect for Citaro 3 in SG.

The 360 PS version of the OM 470 h would be my choice, combined with a ZF-EcoLife 6 AP 1700 B with TopoDyn and a 5.27:1 final drive ratio.
No such thing as a "Citaro 3" either. The original Citaro was released in 1997 and received a facelift in 2005. The Citaro² was released in 2011.

That would be a very nice and powerful way to hit 100km/h.
Anyways, the newest version of the citaro that was released would be called the Citaro C2
Cheers.

Just because an engine is rated at 360 PS and 1700Nm doesn't mean that the full rating needs to be utilised on the final implementation. You can electronically torque-restrict the engine to, say, 1400Nm if the need arises, or you can even limit the torque available in individual gears. The larger engine is extremely torquey and already produces 95% of peak torque at 800rpm. This allows a taller final drive ratio to be used which increases ride comfort (less gear changes) and further decreases fuel consumption and unnecessary wear on the mechanicals.

Okay. Thanks. Final decision: I prefer to have Citaro C2 fitted with 260kW OM936h fitted with ZF-Ecolife AP 1400B and C2G with 265kW OM470h fitted with ZF-Ecolife AP 1700B.

Gus chong said any source of the info that it's fake will result a flame war. Do you want to do that? I wouldn't.

I was just randomly replying to agree with Myhabit's post and also to add-on some points, I never asked you for the source of the link. If you want to do this to me it's ok, but he did not know you so well, why are you replying so fierce to him?

I just wonder what's wrong with today...even an innocent user was involved.
