This is so confusing.
So what is the analysis on 88? What is the peak load from Toa Payoh to Pasir Ris and other way round.
Agreed 43 and 70 go via Serangoon MRT but for most part of the route it is same as 76.

88 has exceeded it's optimised fleet during NSL breakdown last year and SBS6007T camoed on it. 88A is useless to be created.
2nd post :
88 has a higher load than 72 all-day.
3rd post :
43 is not fully optimised due to duplication of services.
If you dont take either services frequently enough, I dont think you can conclude that 88 has a higher load.
72 has a large crowd through its route. Its problem is made worse by erratic frequency and uber slow driving.
I take both frequently over 10 years already and I still have yet to conclude if 88 > 72 in terms of crowd.
But I can tell you that from HG to Tamp, it might actually be faster to take 88->EWL than 72 direct.

They seriously need to fix the uber slow driving. It is frustrating to see 72 drivers wait for red lights at traffic junctions and drive at ~40km/h on the almost deserted Tampines Rd (did I get this correct?).
Citaro from my pov can just fit 80 pax nicely to the max due to its narrow aisle and ditto for NLs.Thats fully low floor for you.LE is other way is quite dangerous due to its 2 steps at the centre rear. But frankly KUBs can take 90 nicely due to its generous space in front and so is OCs.Btw I saw a fully packed 2 svc 222 VSOs due to 1 poor SD breakdown along Chai Chee..Upstairs also packed
I took 143 this morning. I missed the bus and then had to wait for 11 minutes - post which 2 DDs came at 9.02 (Clemenceau Avenue). The first one didnt stop, the second one that I got into had only 20 pax. The pax never went above 20 in the whole journey. There should be some way in which operators should avoid clubbing. Even if the bus comes after 4 minutes, there are new passengers who can take the bus. But when it is back to back, the 2nd bus can not get a single passenger unless the first bus skips a stop, or there is some overtaking.
I took 143 from Harbourfront to Clemenceau Avenue at 3.00 pm on Monday afternoon
Harbourfront - China Town approx 25 pax
While getting down at Shell House 46 pax.
The main loading is China Town - Subordinate Court - Shell House for this route.
I took 88 on Friday from Toah Payoh to Bishan road at around 12 noon and I was surprised that the bus had >50 pax throughout the journey.
What is the loading on 163 like? I have seen it many times but never taken this bus. Are there route restrictions because of which there are no DD on this route? Or is it that the loading is low?
