Currently, there are two DDs.They are SBS3060H and SBS3082U
How do you come to know which services have how many buses and what the configuration split is between DD / SD? Please advice.

Daily / consistent monitoring of the bus fleet every day / regularly, also known as, bus spotting.
Originally posted by carbikebus:225 I feel there's no need for DDs as for now.222 certainly need 60% at least.229 dunno justified or not.291 certainly does.240,241,334 all need.285 is more or less during weekdays peak hours.265/268 also can put on trial no harm.74 & 147 need 90% DDs.165 3 DDs from each ride should be enough le,166 need more.153 good balancing as well as 107.109 need at least 3 DDs.113 can trial also.
113 certainly need dds.
What is the loading on 163 like? I have seen its route and it seems to be quite unique. Any idea why no DDs on this route? Is it because of low loading or height restrictions? Never taken this bus so was wondering.

The main load on 163 is from Sengkang to Fernvale,Yio Chu Kang Road and Upper Thomson Road. There will be less pax once it reach Braddel Road. Btw, 163 used to be controlled by TIBS from 1995 to 1999
Thanks. Wonder why I have never spotted a DD on 163. I agree 54 does not need DDs.
Recently the load on 166 has increased, especially between Chinatown and Ang Mo Kio, relatively less load from China town area to Clementi.
What about 52? I thought DD were deployed on this route, but I see mostly SDs.

Braddell Road*
Since it is the only bus travelling from Sengkang to Fernvale...

I agree with you. When i took SBS3083S on 166 on 11 June 2012, the bus was so packed that the first level has no space to sit and stand and i have to go to the upper-deck.Luckily theres only 1 space that is empty and i sat there just for a god dam few stops.
From where to where had you taken the 166?

Just out of curiosity.. how do you know the timetable will change from 18 June? How often does the bus deployment change? and is the link you sent me on wiki updated regularly?

Select service 52 at basic service. Choose which direction you're heading to. Choose the stops and it will show you the timings for weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
For service 52, the only non-WAB bus is Double-Decks (SBS9384J and SBS9429P)
So, Look for the NON-WAB timings
How's the demand on 89e ah? I thought I saw a few DDs on it?
Originally posted by smrtbsbs:How's the demand on 89e ah? I thought I saw a few DDs on it?
The demand is very good. That's why it use DDs.
89's demand is very high during peak hours. Always full
89e is a fast service, skipping all the stops at Pasir Ris
Frankly 52 doesn't need DDs.Just improve freq and add buses will do.Better if AM control few duty.93 nowadays also no problem with full SDs.If you count in peak hours many svc also need high capacity buses..151 also another wasted.Should give 151 DDs to 74.80 certainly need 98% DDs.Those who say 155 need DDs must be joking.
151's main load is at Toa Payoh - NUS that side.
52's issue is more because they cannot add anymore buses at Clementi alrdy. Only way is to add capacity per bus

Not enough BCs. 22 Foreign bus captains resigned already
