i think that svc 43,90,132,165 do not need DDs.
Svc 62 do not need so much DDs and such good frequency. Bus svcs in hougang/ lorong ah soo like 53,113, is damn crowded esp school dismissal times and peak hours. Got one day i waiting for svc 113, 3 svc 62 came in the span of 15 mins, each bus 5 min, all DD, all so empty, no standee. Svc 113 come, full load to the door, cannot board. Empty svc 62 DD at the back. People complain and whine. Same case for 53 also. Btw, svc 113 (ex 321) had dds in the past also. Vo2x.
reasons why 43,90,132,165 do not need DDs :
svc 43's demand is not fixed. It depends on whether which bus comes first. Eg. if svc 76 comes first, 43's dd will be unutilised.
svc 90. This svc only crowded when airshow or special occasion near the airport there la...
svc 132. demand only from redhill to orchard others ulu
svc 165. Off peak ulu, peak hours demand also not fixed. This bus svc mirrors alot of services also.... Therefore SDs can be deployed on this svc.
132/165 do not need DD??Crazy sial that guy.165 can have a few DD ie 3 for both side but not fully SDs as for 132 that guy got no idea why Arbp side all 5 buses are DDs.Morning ask him to observe at Redhill Mrt bus stop then he notice why.165 off peak a bit jialat cause most if time empty but peak hours 2-3 DDs back to back also fully seated plus a few standees.90 should have at least 3.94 also need 2 DDs.62 must have at least 65% DDs.139&186 I agree no need DDs.21 need 98% DDs.51 ok for now cause got more buses and all along got other service help them also.AMK Townlinks must have DDs too.
90 is only crowded during airshow.........
BWAHAHAHAHA
that made my day.

132 - Loading high only between Redhill & Henderson Road (Do you really need so many DDs for a route where only 10% is high loading?) Then all routes in SG will needs DDs
165 - Need DDs but not at many!! I agree - in peak hours 5 DDs from Clementi - HG in evening and other way round in morning.
90 / 94 - No need la. You have 8 to relieve the crowd till Macpherson.
62 - Definitely need full DD fleet. It had high loading throughout its route - at least a full seated bus unless there is bunching
139 - Does not need DDs for sure. 145 NEEDs but due to Henderson road cannot
186 - Needs DDs in morning peak towards Shenton. There are 2 DDs that come back to back and are filled to the brim. Go to River Walk bus stop (Havelock road). Watch the fun when suited executives try to cram into the bus.
51 is fine. 143 frequency is too good with too many DDs. Need to be moved some to other routes.
90 and 94 no need S shift DD?
Eh dude!

I agree on 90, 132, 165 but not with 43 completely coz the loading completely depends on whether there is a 70 or 76 ahead of it. In that case even 143 should not have DDs because the loading completely depends on whether there is a 30 or 51 ahead of it. Anyway, I feel there are way too many DDs on 143 that are not utilized optimally.
90 - I have never seen the bus high loaded mainly coz it always follows a 8. But I could be wrong if other folks here agree.
But what about 132, 153 - where is the loading? Hardly any. Now don't tell me 10% of its route has high loading so it should be DD :)

Have you ever put up a sensible post? :O

132 has a high loading between AMK & Orchard Road. Try taking it during peak hours..

Actually if there are no traffic jams, 132 can be a faster alternative route for MRT from AMK to Orchard.

62 - you are just at the wrong place at the wrong time. that's why its empty.. doh!
43 - if 43's demand is not fixed, how do bus planners plan bus routes? how do schedulers determine the DD slot?
90 - frog in the well, nuff said. you think everyone at airport rd drive to work?
132 - then why so many people board 132 at AMK Stn?
165 - as above (see 43 and 132)
Your bottomline in the whole post is justifying that 113 needs better frequency, needs more buses, needs DDs because this feeder route is more packed than the trunk services you observed. And in your quest of justifying your point, you belittle the other services such that they do not need improvements.

Dey it states there 4.5m
dont make me pay a visit to the flyover TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE HEIGHT CLEARANCE SIGN.
some fella in this forum claimed that Serangoon Int cannot take DDs, when the HEIGHT CLEARANCE SIGN clearly stated 4.5m. Wonder if that fella is blind or what.

132 - another reason for DD presence is advertisement contracts.
165 - as said previously, sector between hougang and amk load is quite high.
90 - you said there's 8 to relieve the crowd. what if 8 can't accomplish that?
62 - its currently 35% single deck fleet. its loads have significantly dropped since CCL opened, especially those in the Tai Seng area. They have since cut about 4 buses, and converted 2-3 buses from DD to SD since the opening of CCL.
186 - The 4 DDs on 186 are timed for the AM Peak crowd. dont worry about that. and its only the sole AM Peak-on-peak trip that the DDs are well utilised.
143 - The DDs are best utilised along the south western corridor area. that's all.
Actually should 165 be extended to Jurong East or Boon Lay instead???
So bus anal you get the picture?132 is not about 10% loading only.AMK sector?90 8 SD and now 2 DDs also struggle then how?94 peak hour 3-4 KUBs struggling with the loads from Eunos itself.Ppl all over Sg work in airport rd take mrt stop at Eunos wait for 94 leh.186 it's only 1 trip full during peak,It's normal in SG.143 take a few DDs out? That svc is combo leh feeder/trunk.Teban crowds never think?West Coast?Aiyo

Malcolm,The guy who mention about Serangoon cannot take DD is really super dumbass,4.5m sign so big say dd cannot enter

Why so emotional?
Its just his opinion.
I mantain that one should at least still use some common sense nonetheless, but that was construed as being emotional.
hahahahahahahahaha
↗💦 hahaha,These ppl become MOT or work for public bus co sure jialat one.One sure die die must buy Citaro/Gs,1 say 132 no need so many DDs,1 say 90 8 SDs enough.Kwang kwang kwang.SBS2601D I'm not that emotional la but rather shocked how these ppl gave their absurd opinions
Sometimes I really wonder...
Does SBST really fail in their fleet deployment that so many people question "this service doesn't need DD", "that service need more DD" and blah blah blah??
The SBST analyst got the chunks of data for them to analyse to decide how to better utilise their fleet and also, they got certain qos standards to adhere to. If you got the same chunk of data for analysis and you still come up with the same answer, then I have nothing to say.
5010 should go around more and take a look at peak hr loading
90 plies Ind Estates, so the take is as like JIS.
132 is more at the ends of the 2 sides.
7, 165 can extend to Jurong East... but tat means a big big parking/ layover mess...

U crazy or wat?
By rite shld be the COMPLETE other way round. 43 is the one who dunnid DD while the three svc needs them more. 43 is ADD FREQUENCY. NOT DD. 90 is becoz there is not much SP in BRBP rite now, so cannot add frequency like 43. 132 and 165 TOTALLY deserves DD, even after introduction of CCL west (165 needed DD during peak hours).
Adding : 163 need dd meh? I observed 163 at sengkang int during peak hours and the crowd just crowd at the lower deck of the dd and no one goes up.

wow so smart sia. *clapclap* did I mention svc 113 in my recent posts? I just feel tht those extra dds on those svcs should be put to good use eg 161.

Last time 7 used to terminate at Jurong East but was shortern to Clementi in the early 90s...
132 no need double deck? With almost 20mins freq at times u expect ppl to stand all the way from scotts rd till amk with so multiple turns throughout whitley rd till amk ave 1?? Have u seen it's morning demand on both ends?
And since now they just ordered another 550 wrights why complain? They should have more than enough DDs in the future.
Sgoon cannot go in DD? Then how come the wrights on 109 have not became open top?
