SBS998Y.

Actually I find his post quite strange when he said this sentence in another thread to a different person and subsequently accusing SMB228X that he don't understand English when in fact he did not say this sentence to SMB228X at all.

I got the info from some where.1 of the thread here.
But this 228X still insist SBS buy simi Citaro Bendies

Thats not proof.
See Citaros still can buy so SBS and SMRT must buy 800 more new Euro VI Citaros!!

Opps.. Thanks for correcting
If MB has ceased selling citaros, there will be no euro 6 Citaro

You said the sentence 'Citaro bo sell leh' in another thread to SMB128B and now here, you tell me about what SMB228X will answer. When he replied to that post, you said the same sentence again to him and claimed that he don't know English. If you had not see properly which post he is quoting, you are the one who don't know English after all.

Yeah sure...

It could be fake still after all.

I have personally travelled in bendies and find it quite annoying. And stop asking to lock this thread coz it differs from your opinion.
67 can't use ADD due to Dunearn Road, low branches sticking out. Same goes for 171, 700, 960.
What about... SMRT Services with NO height clearance= DD
SMRT Services with height clearance= bendy
What do you think?

My point is DDs are better suited than bendies for SG especially in CBD area. Bendies are fine in WL / Yishun / CCK area.
I do agree that areas where there is height restriction like for 67, bendies make sense (though with DTL coming in, the load is going to drop and may be the route will get cropped). I am not against bendies. I just feel for instance route 190, 854 - DDs can do a better job than bendies.

Maybe if I classify them into groups?
A- Services which ply into CBD that have no height clearance= ADD
B- Services which ply into CBD that have height clearance= Bendy(no choice)
C- Services which do not ply into CBD with no height clearance= ADD/Bendy Mix(depends on peoples' opinions)
D- Services which do not ply into CBD with height clearance= Bendy(no choice)
In this case, services like 190 and 106 belong to group A
services like 700 belong to group B
services like 188,963,854,969,965,966 etc. belong to group C
services like 176 belong to group D(176 due to Henderson Rd)
I would still prefer 854 using bendies
DD on services 190, 106 and 851 is fine with me.
Good classification.
I would add one more classification.
Long Haul routes: Use DDs. I think on long-haul routes like 188, 963, 854 double deckers make more sense.
Feeder routes: Use bendies (only applies for SMRT bendies in CCK / Yis / WL), Double deckers for SBST routes.

Good idea. What about those expressway services like 969 etc. ?
Expressway services like 969 should definitely be full fleet DDs / bendies. Imagine you getting a SD and having to stand all the way for 15 kms - that is criminal...
For sake of Tampines Int and WL interchange that are both overloaded with bus routes, I would prefer DDs to ply on 969 to help with the space constraints. Anyway, WL would have a dozen routes on bendies, a few long haul routes on DD would make the interchange more manageable.
Bendies when reversing - it is the most scary sight.

Category B & D are good enough will full single deckers, if SMRT even bothers to improve the frequencies of these services. There is a better choice to use all single deckers for B & D. I find it inflexible to use just bendy buses only where full single deckers can do the job better with better frequencies. 700 frequencies can be improved for the moment and can be withdrawn once DTL is ready. And 700 plies along the city, so no for bendy buses.
176 is already managable with more single deckers now. More single deckers can be added to improve the frequency. Off peak demand is low, can use single deckers.
854 out of question for bendy buses. New Bedok interchange don't support long parking lots and bus stops along 854 route are mostly small bus bays. Would be better if use double deckers which can improved as an alternative for 25.
190, 854 will need higher capacity buses (preferably DDs) even after DTL. 67, 700 will not need bendies / DD anymore after DTL.
Considering SMRT won't buy any more bendies, it makes sense to buy DDs and deploy them on 106, 171, 176, 178, 188, 190, 851, 853, 854, 855, 963, 969 to start with.
There's 2 bendy parking slots at Bedok. 854 more suitable to use bendies. Good and fast alternative to 25.
SMRT Depots can't use DDs right?
It is time to CHANGE.
Why would you say 854 is better with bendies? For long haul routes, DDs are just perfect. They dont hog the road and are quick to load/unload. Saves so much space at bus stops, especially for 854 route.

Wrong, only Woodlands depot cannot support double deckers. The rest can.
25 is better with more double deckers because SBS can park more of them because they take up less space. And no, new Bedok temp interchange has no bendy bus parking lots. 854 will only improve with more single deckers plus a few double deckers.

Actually 854 will be better with 60% DDs and 40% SDs.

You may wish to visit Bedok Temp Interchange to see the designated lots for 854's bendy buses.
Doesn't matter... in the new scheme, there will be no bendy slots, so 854 will either have to loop at Bedok or become a full SD fleet, unless SMRT adds a few DDs to its route.
