it good for smrt bus because it cousin company STK can support the bus much better than C&C. I think SMRT going for all MAN buses. hopfully no more burning bus for SMRT.

Burning buses are due to overworking.
I think SMRT should not deploy bendies on hilly roads.
OH BUT YEEEEEEEEEES!!! MY DREAM FOR A WAB BENDY FINALLY CAME TRUE!!! YAY!!!
SMRT can get the spare parts cheaper with cousin company support. I think most likey if noting goes wrong SMRT will buy the bus from STK. if SMRT use the MAN bandy for one to one replacement over time the bus will also be over work. I hope SMRT will look into getting some Double decker Buses for long distance route.
It looks like SMRT getting new bendies.. So what will the anti-bendy people say now?

There's no picture apparently but the other people in FB also mentioned it as well, some said it is at STK

Complain again, saying that what SMRT is doing is a failure?
But apparently it may be trial only, once got production batch we can then celebrate again.
Im curious if SMRT will order DDs though, do note I am fine with SMRT buying DDs

SMRT looking into DDs chances is low, given that their experience in those Bendies for years. Further more, Only like Kranji depot and new Woodlands Bus park can really store these new DDs(if they did purchase). Unless SMRT gonna spend another huge sum of money to change the structure for the depot, there's low chances for DDs.
It simply reinforces the possible reasoning why SMRTB has bled money every single year.
The inability to make sweeping changes due to the market environment, and its own doing.
What else?
Ah.
You want me to wring my hand for you?

No matter what problems SG is facing I do think SMRT is making the right decision in buying bendies. After all, demands for bendies are still high in some areas as mentioned by most of us. Bendy fans or not, we do recognize the advantages of bendies (but we also do for DDs).
So please dun complain about SMRT making incorrect decision.
I wouldn't complain if the service is private.
BUT
The service provided is a public one that impacts all of us.
And the mismatch between what SMRT has/will get is getting worse with what LTA is building.
Why won't I be airing my vehement disapproval?
Locked-in investment can no longer be an excuse when the life-span of the oldest bendies have been reached, as in the case now!
If there was ever a time to match better our infrastructural needs and company assets, this IS the best window of opportunity.
There is no one-size fits all. Either you learn to adapt, or you don't. Simple.

Or he go work at LTA
As noted by academics who have studied our transport problems, it is unlikely that competition will lower prices further (let's not talk about what vested interest the academic papers might have with regards to pricing).
So if companies here "compete", it will be through non-price means.
That was surely how TIBS viewed the issue.
I'm confident that Kjdep will move by 2014..Besides the Bendy is on trial till SMRT decided whether to buy more or not.Remember Yutong/Zhongtong and Lontong?

Lontong?
Ya Lontong Gho Reng
SMRT should also get DDs. They will serve services like 61, 106 and 969 well, perhaps better than the bendies. Bendies will serve a certain svc better than a DD will, just as a DD will serve a certain svc better than a bendy will.
Such trends reveals even more of the current problem of the regulatory framework today.
You can't call private companies such if you control this and that. You can only hint to them as appropriate....if they heed at all due to their own day-to-day constraints (depot issue raised)
Yet when you attempt to "help" with the BSEP, the public becomes infuriated because it came too slow and the govt had often used the need for private space to defend calls to nationalise.
It is a very muddled state of affairs today that we see.

I dun think smrt will go for both dd and bendy,More maintenance headache..It's either Bendy or DD

actually ok what, IMO. 51 Citaros, 200 MAN A22s (maybe more since they used for BSEP), ??? MAN A24s and a certain amount of a DD model. 4 bus models to maintain in the future may seem like a headache but the MAN A22s and A24s share virtually the same parts and their engine blocks and some engine parts are interchangable with the Citaros. just my thoughts
also i think they will stick to buying more of the current MANs or Citaros they have to replace the O405s
I guarantee there will be no two type of high capacity buses for smrt trust me

Meaning that SMRT will never get DDs?
