I repeat. DDs havent been added on 86 for Sengkang Town. There is a LRT network in parallel to 86's route. DDs are needed for Jalan Kayu / YCK Road, where you have 100+ pax in peak hours, and a full 100% full upper deck.
I think we should organize a mass joyride for both DDs and bendies to see all their pros and cons. I take SDs, DDs and bendies often BTW...
86 IMHO opinion still need DD except for off peak.4 is enough..

I'll tell you what I like about joyriding on DDs. Good view from the upper deck and you can actually count the number of people alighting and boarding on every stop which I love doing to understand the loading pattern of buses. You can still do it on Citaros and KUBs but it is impossible to do it on bendies. Have tried it so many times. Also when a bendy is crowded you dont get to see a good view of the road and where you are heading.
Anyway, these are personal reasons why I like joyriding on DDs but apart from that also I feel DDs definitely have practical advantages. You should take DDs - you might soon start a DD fan page :)
BusAnalyzer I think you should be the one starting the DD fan club. You probably should be the admin over there!

Sometimes during off peak 2 KUBs might not even help from YCK Ter - Bef Seletar Camp G. 75% of the pax alight at bef seletar camp G.

For bendies
Seating capacity: 57 to 60
Standing capacity: 50 pax (including the joint area)
Max capacity: 110 pax
Bendies have smaller corridors, whereas DDs (Wrights have) 2 parking spaces for wheelchairs and a big standing area. This standing area is similar to that of the joint between bendies, where there is nothing to hold and very uncomfortable to stand.
Most often bendies can carry only 100 pax.
Both in terms of comfort (seating space) and number of pax - DDs are better.
Yes bendy has one huge advantage: an extra door. But while boarding it is still one door!!!
How can you compare WAB DDs with Non-WAB bendies?

You also need to get your facts right. I don't think you have take 86 in the morning. Most of the pax come from Rivervale Drive and Punggol Road.
Morning DDs on 87 by the time reach Hougang Avenue 10, full already. So you telling me that the people are not from SK?
Have you seen the queue for 87 at Sengkang Int in the morning?

SK int ppl dun even move up... i can always take pic and show u...
SK I dont even see 50% of the 1st level being filled up, let alone the upper deck. The upper deck is always left with at least 45 seats when it depart the interchange. But if AMK, at least 65% of the 1st deck is filled up, whereas the upper deck has lesser than 20 seats available.

Morning: At Punggol road, there are 55 - 65 pax in the bus. The DD capacity for the bus is at Seletar Camp, Jalan Kayu, YCK Road. I know the loading pattern of 86 very well.
You are absolutely right about 87. Even 80 is already packed by the time it reaches Hougang Ave 10. Most of the loading happens on Punggol Road for both and not at the interchange. At the interchange, there are 35-40 pax loading the bus.

To be honest I think the right number of DDs for 86 should be 6. 4 full day, and 2 split shift. 3 DDs deployed from each end because 86 has high loading on YCK / Jalan Kayu / Seletar at both sides and is the only route connecting with no parallel options.

35 - 40 pax Is a great headstart at the int already.

Don't eat your own words. We are talking about DDs here, not KUBs. And the topic was people moving to upper deck. Anyway, don't want to argue with you anymore.
Woohoo 600th post

Somewhere near there, when 53 turn to that junction already considered tampines, but move straight down Hougang Ave 3 or 4 I think. 25, 55 and 151 also ply there

It is Tampines Road where 53 and 87 meet. I am surprised you say that 87 DDs are empty. It actually depends on the time of the day but morning peak 87 DDs are already packed when they come to Tampines Road towards Bedok.

From when did 87 start going to Lor Ah Soo??

I think you are talking about the junction of Tampines Road and Hougang Ave 3. 25, 55 goes straight on HG Ave 3, 151 and 87 turn to Tampines road from Hougang Ave 3 and 53 comes to Tampines road from HG ave 1.

Really, the DDs are usually empty. Probably a bus the pax already. But when 1 time I played with iris, they said the bus infront is a non-WAB bus. Might be the B10Ms though, but theres also a possibility it was a VO
