156's erratic frequency makes 151 look like the top bus service you could ask for.
Depends on when you see it lah...
I noe for SURE that SBS6190X always reaches SK int at 6.40 am sharp and SBS8673G exits SK int 6.30 am sharp. But in the afternoon/evening time 156 schedule is totally chaotic. LOTS of S-shift buses late, timing wrong when reaching int etc.

325 drivers, especially those driving MkIIIs when they are still ''alive'', those BCs love to acclerate and brake, repeatedly. Doesn't go very fast either way. Very jerky.
WLDEP and AMDEP not moving out right?

Ya.
So your point about 156 being very on-time only at 1 place and 1 particular slot amounts to what?
One +1 post from you?
To give justice, still it was an improvement from last time. Far far worse last time. frequency can hit >30 minutes at times.

Agree, what's worse is that the journey from Clementi to Sengkang can be like 3h+...
Does anyone have an idea by now on what kind of "high capacity buses" SMRT is looking for?
Did anyone try dialing the phone number published on website?

Dial for what? Want SMRT buy buses from you?

Ya.
Tuas to HG on average 9+hrs.
I dreamed that I saw a DD on 854

That will be great if it really happens.

That is if SMRTB closes down and hand over to SBST
With the new tender, I am sure SMRT will get DDs. LTA won't allow in future bendies to ply in CBD at least and being cognizant of that atleast SMRT will get some DDs.

I seriously hope so.
Really had enough have all those jams and queues and hornings caused by bendies everytime I go Yishun and Woodlands.
The bendies are badly disrupting the operations of SMRT buses smoothly every time because of these. And some services cannot clear all the crowd even when the frequencies are good and bendies cannot deployed because they go via busy bus stops and busy CBD areas. There won't be so much problems if SMRT switches to double deckers.
SMRT please, make use of the chance now to switch to double deckers and take your bus service standards to greater heights.
I think bendies are fine but need to be used in moderation.
If you compare SBS and SMRT services, SBS wins hands down and one of the reasons is it does not have bendy related problems.
I am amazed at how well the Tampines, Bedok, Boon Lay interchanges are managed compared to Woodlands and Yishun. The waiting time as well as crowd at Woodlands is often crazy and annoying.
Imagine in Boon Lay, if you replace all the DDs with bendies, what would happen??? Now imagine Woodlands, if you replace bendies with DDs, how good it would be for the commuters.
I see people here commenting on bendies who live in Bukit Merah and for them spotting one bendy is a big thing but people who live in Woodlands / Yishun often crib about bendies, and really wish there were more DDs on their side of the town.

I agreed on the bolded part.
But it is still the best and easier for SMRT to just operate 2 kinds of buses, 12m single deckers and double deckers. Their way of maintanace are not fantastic anyway, and so the lesser the range, the easier and cheaper for them and more efficient they will be.
If SMRT bring in DD into their fleet, surely those pax taking 190 all the time would be happy. More seats, more comfort. Now all squeezing like sardines.

190 should be transferred back to SBST.
In fact all of Northwest bus services as well.

Wldep with another new bus park that are DD friendly wont move out.Kjdep I heard from a reliable sources will move by 2014 probably to a new bus park within Bt Timah or Mandai area.Amdep haven't confirm but if they got plans for expansion then they will move out too.I would prefer if Kjdep stays and Amdep move to a small bus park withing Eastern area.Yishun can let the 2 Woodlands side handle
Well as much as I love bendies too I find its getting more impractical nowadays with the rising population and vehicle growth.Today we have 5.3m ppl and our Gahmen still not happy say that 6m can squeeze.Im not complaining here but Sg ardy getting cramp and more roads are getting narrow albeit new roads and expressways. We're more or less will become like HK with more land reclaim come from either island or sea and its exclusively for housing development.Like it or not these kind of environment will find long vehicles an eyesore for motorists. To make DD or even 3 doors type more practical they can simply extend the routes for some feeders/Intratown.One good examples is Intratown.Townlinks suchs as 222,291 started using DDs as perm follow by feeders suchs as 225/240/241/242 and during survey peoples start to sit upstairs even for 4 bus stops so I say no reason why they can't adapt to this style?I know this may cause flamewars or discomfort to some here but I'm stating the whole pictures about future tptation.Theres no point they want to buy bendies in a small bulk when the demand is increasing. As much I hate to see the bendies go but it's time to us to understand the whole situation.
Those who think I'm anti bendies go ahead and I'm not a pro SBST either. But I'm pretty sure SMRT will be different if they buy 3 doors DDs

Well I've heard from some forumers that 3 doors DD are not allowed in SG yet due to safety precautions[?] or some other requirement of the last door not meeting the minimum requirements to get into SG's transport.
