With the upcoming DTL and Thomson line coming up,What are your views on current bus services that serve those affected areas?I just want your constructive views only and damn SMB228 don't bother to reply Citaros only.
63 should cut the Ubi/McPherson sector and 63M to loop at Lor 1.Renumbered is better .61 think kena shortened maybe New Bridge Rd
Think not much changes. CCL is a good example, no changes to bus services, unlike NEL, where many routes were amended. Now MRT are not very stable, think LTA would rather trust buses more. MRT breakdown means a lot of commuters are affected, but one bus breakdown still have another bus of same route of different routes to support.
Cheers.
Now we are already embroiled in the train breakdown saga
and the spate of train delays is expected to drag on for months or even years
guess the government will demand that more resources and manpower be diverted into maintenance and prevention of future breakdowns of the current lines
This will be the more prioritized problem at hand
No time to dwell on future lines and bus rationalization
One aspect of bus planning they can do is to plan and introduce more bus routes to run parallel to the train lines in case of another train breakdown
Maybe they should just suspend all train services temporarily for a few weeks to sort out the problems and deploy buses that run parallel to the train lines

Bus always slower. More feeders and less trunk route. Less DD needed for trunk.
Now BPLRT also rosak

cos we dun have much semi express routes
Give me Sv 7 and run it till Jurong East, I think sure got ppl take one... Faster than MRT via Holland Rd..
Never mind... Bus always slower, wait till MRT spoil big big and later SMRT staff can say Bus 48 got go to Buona Vista Stn after seeing 'Buona Vista' on Citaro's EDS

Do you know why 63M is made to loop at Circuit Rd in the first place?
Not sure will sv 67 and 170 will cut.
170 from Bt Panjang to JB.....

No aircon, water leaking train. very very disappointing.

Service 170 will never be cut.
Hope 170 shortened to Bt Batok.63M is to serve Ubi n McPherson area mainly workers at the industrial area.Thats why the need to 63 to cut Ubi/McPherson sector and introduced a fixed new short haul or feeder follow 63M route
170 hard to cut...
If DTL spoil, can still backup...
Somemore as this is occuring pretty often, some ppl will just take 170 whenever CW2 or SJE is delayed by massive jam on PIE

many bus service will be cut or re-route or 2 service into 1. But i hope LTA can provide more semi-express bus service parallel to DTL like service 23,59,5,966,985 & 857 using expressway instead of removing it. If sbst opreate DTL according to news, then the bus service which run by sbst, LTA should pass the service to other operator SMRT or a new operator. let sbst handle the train operation better and reduce manpower on bus driving.

More DDs are needed in fact, with our population increasing year by year. How to squeeze all the people into single deckers then? More feeders mean more transfers. Do you think it is convenient to transfer here and there many times just to get to point A to point B? That's a real purpose for trunk routes. Too many feeder services will be very difficult to plan as well. And don't give me the crap about bendy buses and Citaro G bullshit again. More feeder services means more buses on the roads, means that it will be much more worse with more bendies with more gridlocks/queues along bus stops/bus interchanges and more parking woes in interchanges and depots. Our bus system will be even be less efficient and in a bloody mess.
Crosscountry services mostly likely will not be cut. What I feel is that 190, 700 and 960 will be merged and amended into one service. 75 and 77 or 106 as well. 67 might transfer to SBST and be cut to terminate at Kent Ridge or Clementi. 961 might be cut back to New Bridge Rd. But I do hope none will be touch. Don't fix it if it is not broken.
U don't like Citaro????
In general SBST will control 75% of bus operation,NEL,DTL and possible the ERL also right?
SMRT control 25% bus,EWL,NSL,CCL,TSL right?
Service like 51,61 need to cut a bit of its route while other new service should at least skip some bus stops if they dont ply expressways.Premium or Express is secondary answer.
960 likely to reroute somewhere else,190 i think looping at Orchard and 700 maybe convert to peak hour service.Just my thought dont blast this on me k.With current More Train Rosak pattern i dun think LTA stupid enough to cut more bus routes.128 another good examples hopefully Sat also run from 0630-1300.
I think at the going rate & BOI, I think ERL & TSL's chances of under SMRT...
shakes head

I feel its better ERL/TSL under SBST while DTL under SMRT.Imagine the rail staff at DTL BPJ have to pay for bus ride..NEL no problem leh cause Punggol/Sengkang/Hougang/Serangoon all free bus rides,Ditto for NSL staff free bus rides at WDL/SBW/YIS/BBT/CCK..
BPS1 can renumbered to 928 liao to supplement More Rosak Train LRT.Make it a full day and im sure theres potential to it.Wake up SMRT
