JOHOR BAHARU, March 23 (Bernama) -- A policeman was killed when he was hit
by a tourist bus from Singapore while manning the traffic at the Customs,
Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex here last night.
Corporal Ismayuddin Ismail, 50, died on the spot in the 11.55pm incident.
Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Sharif said the bus with a
Singapore plate number was believed to have lost control and crashed into a
lorry and a car.
"It then rammed into the road barrier before hitting our personnel," he told
reporters after visiting the family of the deceased policeman at Felda Taib
Andak Kulai here today.
It was learnt that after the incident, the bus driver, a 49-year-old local
woman, tried to flee but was arrested 150 metres from the spot.

manning traffic my ass.. more like collecting kopi $..
That piece of Tiong shit probably had failed brakes!
Which is why I will never take any of these Tiong bus in my life! Walking through a minefield is safer than taking any of these buses! Good thing SMRT rejected all those Tiong bus and buy Citaro and MAN!
One of these days these Tiong bus is going to cause a major accident in Singapore!!!!

That one wat kopi money...
Cars in the first place aren't supposed to be on the third lane. That's only for lorries and/ or buses during congestion

Dunno how to drive, better keep quiet.
Since the lorry was right in front, the AC7 driver is unlikely to be able to see that there happened to be TP and a car in the chervon/ stone marking.
The speed of the bus was very high, considering there's congestion on the car lane. Before the collision, the bus was alrdy at the lane marking edge.
There's only 2 possibility since the brake was only applied after the collision.
1) Using speed to overtake: Failed and didn't realise there's car and police. Hit, steer to the right but hit the concrete viaduct structure. The lorry got hit in the process.
2) Driver was just plainly speeding.
Another possibility is that the driver was alrdy sleepy...
Didn't realise that leads to the lorry CIQ.
Anyway, either possibility all would have lead to an accident
In any case, some of the MAN I taken recently all giving suspension problem liao

u may wish to drive a car using that lane, get stopped and you know whether they are really 'manning traffic and issueing summons' or 'collecting kopi money'..
could it tat the ECU is faulty n unable to control as sometimes electronics can be unreliable

So because you've cleared away from SG customs, you dunno wat's the meaning of forming up?
So what abt blocking rows of buses at the CIQ?

Well, i always queue up whenever im driving.
Buses being blocked or not is non of my concern as i dont block them at the causeway.
Afterall, buses need to queue after that accident spot. Its a design flaw of the JB side of the bridge whereby the architec did not anticipate the volume of incoming cars that will eventually overflow one single lane outside CIQ.
btw, im sure every driver know's what's the meaning of forming up. You need not ask me such questions.

They've design constrains because the old city area is literally beside and it's not easy to say accquire those land.
Any case, the only time you'll really slow movement jam is on weekend and evening peak hours.
On Sunday the buses are literally free to use that lane until the 2x lane carriageway
WHY happen on 23.03.2012?
