  As the previous part 1 thread has expired due to the de-registration dates of the 1994 batches and 1995 batches being four months apart, I shall open a part 2 thread.

  recent newspaper articles about sg public transport mentions that public buses are allowed on the roads for up to 20 years. That means LTA has already increased the statuatory lifespan from 17 to 20 years?

  It is ALREADY INCREASED!
  That is the REASON why SBST Volvo B10M Mk3s that are manufactured in 1992 are deregistering in 2012 not 2009!!!

  Nope, the de-registration date of the bus depends on the date it was registered, not the manufacture year. So how are you going to explain TIB427K - TIB441T manufactured in 1994 and de-registered in 2013 to count that the lifespan extended to 20 years?

  The lifespan of buses from SBS Transit and SMRT are only up to 17 years, increased to 19 years if it includes extension.
  Some PA-plated or PC-plated buses were having 20 years' lifespan all along

  No, Those buses that is deregistering in 2012 like SBS876R are registered in 1993 while those deregistering in 2011 are registered in 1992.
