spray paint wun even give a glossy look on the articulator cover piece in e long run. It's not even metal
Let me give one more hint...
There's 2 layers of the same colour tone of the cover piece. 1st inner layover is what's likely to be spray painted (dull)...
The cloth tape is likely tambah over to let ppl have the glossy feel...
There's a saying of sort, when it looks too good, something is obviously wrong...
They used cheapo contractor to refurbish.Rubber joints also go and spray lacquer. If I'm the CEO of the co I would retired the Mk1 bendys,Umw Lances,Hinos,4xx-5xx series O405s first.Replace with facelift Citaros,Irisbus Citeas,Scania Citywide LF and trial the MAN A39 ND363F 3 axles 13.7m DDs first.Or customised the NL323 chassis and built a 2 axles DD

Eh.. They gave up within 2 years after Changi Airport opened, what has the MRT to do w/ it? It's more because they ended up having to upkeep so many buses to cover the long distance. Dun forget the housing demograph in those days...
Nearest new town would been Bedok.
727, 737, 747, 757 & 767 are operated jointly by SSB & SSTA. Consider this as a Scheme B service, but however, SSB buses were used on these 5 services.
There comes the 2nd phase of the SBS Changi Airport Bus Plan 1983, whereby the Changi Airport Bus Service were "rationalised". The existing Changi Airport Bus Services operated by SBS, SSB & SSTA are all integrated into 5 SBS Services.
Hmm, it has nothing to do with the MRT.. I don't know who mentioned that the Changi Airport Bus Service Rationalisation is because of the MRT..

Yes...the MRT isn't even operational during the Changi Airport Bus Rationalisation.

That refers to 1983 itself, not the 2002..

Huh? What is the bus services affected in the 2002 rationalisation?

Seriously where do you get your info?
Do you know the existence of Bus 727, 737, 747, 757 & 767?
Do you know there was SBS 390, 391, 392, 393, 394 plying the Airport?

I know the existence of the 39x and 7xx services.
But it seems that you weren't answering my question.

I think you've answered your own questions...
There's 2 Changi Airport bus rationalisation program conducted in 1983 & 2002... The latter is because of the commencement of the Airport line... For that, I guess you dun even know what's going on..
The info you claimed tat you know must have been from what people posted here.. So u claim to know.. I can't blame you..
Why? Cos you exposed yourself, you can say knowing 727..., 390... But you didn't know 34 & 506 was rationalised, 24A was implemented?

24A? I never heard before of 24A. What's its route and when was it withdrawn?

Haha well said there.

I'm sure your online info would allow you to find it out.

I remembered 24A ... The terminating point was at Tanah Merah MRT Stn... I boarded the service last time when I stayed at Hougang St 11... If I can remember clearly, SBS 3770 S I boarded...
24A was from Ang Mo Kio MRT to Tanah Merah MRT. Introduced on 24th Feb 2002.
34 was withdrawn due to the under-utilization of the service when the Changi Airport MRT Line opened. 506 was shortened to Bedok.
989 also did the same thing, but just that the service was shortened later on 27th July 2003, when it was merged with 185 to form the current Service 985. It is not part of the Changi Airport MRT Rationalisation, but due to low ridership.
As for the other Changi Airport Bus Services during the period of 1981 & 1983, please look at sgwiki, all the info are there.

Originally posted by wsy1234:singapore should has both system MRT and BRT system. LRT system is a flop waste too much money. LTA make all bus lane full day even in the weekends and public holiday. LTA can use camera to help out in enforcement. Also have full day bus lane at road link to bus interchanges. if people think bandies bus is too long on the road maybe SMRT and SBS just buy 800 normal SD buses and run on the road. As long as the timing is on time no complain.
BRT has caused a whole lot of problems in other countries already. I can't see the government adding a BRT system when it already has a bus problem to deal with. Money must be thought about as well, you know. And numerous people have complained time and again of bus lanes, not even whole day, that they give people problems filtering, etc. And for the "buying 800 normal SD buses" crap, don't you see the fact that the operators are having recruitment problems? Buying more and more buses with no one to drive? What's the point? And without bendies then how is it supp to keep up? And it's bendies, not bandies. You don't band things do you..?

Bandies sound like bandits to me.
And also, if SMRT were to only have SDs in their fleet can anyone waiting at a bus stop board any bus when they comes at peak hours?

Can wait longlong already as good as SBST not having DDs

Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you saying that nobody will mind waiting for many buses?

You know why?its because you are sore loser you afraid to admit even when you're in the wrong clear cut and yet you love to play twist n turn to confuse ppl.Youre just one of those common ppl that are afraid and paiseh to admit mistakes. Then u start your grandfather stories asking ppl not to misunderstand u etc,Grew up kids.Action is better than more talking. You wanna respect here first respect others first rather that nitpicking.
