MPs lobby for improved bus services in their wards

With detailed figures in hand, Dr Lim Wee Kiak (Nee Soon GRC) on Monday painted a picture that shows all is not equal when it comes to bus services.

At least not in the three towns he highlighted: Woodlands, Yishun and Sembawang.

All three are served by the MRT but the proportion of bus services to residents varies vastly, said Dr Lim.

dont think so. Ex-smrt ceo says LTA asked them to resume service ASAP, and now LTA denied. so interesting, these clowns going on the COI.

from the looks of it it's obvious communication issues...

nowadays ppl not like old days, would also find out and figure out ownself whether can resume service or not...

agree. but statistically, northwest area is under serve by SMRT, as compare with SBST.

including Yew Tee, Bt Panjang and CCK.

Sembawang and Yew Tee really hopeless.

true but if you begin to filter out Woodlands ar.. you realise there's redundant rts..

178 is useless should scrap or shorten to bukit batok. always get the creepy old buses!!!

but you try scrap 178... There's some issues to consider...

Ppl at Woodlands Rd's connection.. left w/ 160 to Jurong East.

Upp Bt Timah Hume area no more bus to Bt Batok East or even MI.

Corporation Rd that side not too sure for now.

Old Woodlands Rd & 1x Woodlands Centre bus stop becomes SBS area...

Suspicious object found on SBS Transit bus

Passengers on board SBS Transit bus service 162 were ordered to alight along Bishan Street 23 on Monday evening when a suspicious object was found on the vehicle.

Police received a call at about 6.20pm informing them of the item and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) activated its Hazardous Materials (HazMat) team.

'Our HazMat detectors registered negative readings,' said an SCDF spokesman. At 11pm, the green light was given for the bus to be driven off. Police said there was no threat or danger to the public.
