The problem is trying to maximise the use of caldecott circle line station. by using 231 route shortest to reach the station people can change to circle and get to holland village, nus, singapore ploy, whole west cost area, and east area skipping the interchange of east west line and north south line in the city area. of cos service like 145, 143, 57, 93, 153, 105, 28 and 26 can serve as the other support service to toa payoh in case the line break down.
in fact by pulling 139 to pass the station into toa payoh lor 1 then 1a then 2 then interchange this service can bring people more direct to the station then 130 where people still need to walk to the station. there is a new bus stop next to the station where 235 is stopping after the bus complete the loop. 139 and 231 can loop there to pick up people or drop people. by 139 already has this G/W plate when it is serving whampo area.
maybe LTA should consider having the whole feeder services in toa payoh to loop at the station by re-configure the whole 23x route. which is possible. And make know to the people living in toa payoh.
Another chose for LTA is to let smrt provide a feeder bus service to link between Toa Payoh MRT station and caldecott MRT station. by skipping bus stops, direct express link.

That's one of the main points. 238 must be a feeder service for its reasons, even though it is looping at Braddell Road.

Those at Balestier Rd alrdy has 130 to Caldecott.
Oops I thought the double looping is calling at the same place twice.
Of course I know that 130 calls at Caldecott. Actually I did not want 139 to go Caldecott, otherwise I wouldn't have directed that 'spare a thought for the residents' to his post that 139 & 145 should serve Caldecott.
I shall edit the post then.

The Premium services have very good demands!

In terms on milage, i think 235 or 238 should be the longest. At most is 0.2km difference. 232 is not that far away from 238.
The total distance of 235's new route is confirmed to be 8.7km (Wow! The longest in the Toa Payoh feeders!).

There’s no value for 139 to ply Caldecott if you figure where the passengers especially in the evening come from.
Skipping the CBD? Then Bishan is for what?
Your reasoning is like just because the silly MRT station is there must waste via resources to be there. I’ve alrdy said for 238 it’s impossible to get route to get there.
If it’s such extreme, how much will the fare go? And since when semi express is workable for short feeders?
Many here dun even understand bus ops. In fact our problem today is what you suggested, must fee the useless CCL station at all cost.
You should direct your sentence at wsy1234 cause I'd have the same feeling as you.

Toa Payoh is under SBST. Unless SMRT give one bus service to SBST, say 851.

Don't understand why 197 is not included even though it hit the min quota the same time as 168 did.
But 25 going WAB status is kinda unexpected because alot of us think that it is lower down in the priority than services like say 70 & 133. But it could point to where 58 might need to kope its Wrights.
Besides, 7724A is on 59 even though 59 has 2 extra WABs above the min needed, that guy might be in danger too of being redeployed. Wondering where AMDEP will find the 7 Wrights to put on 25 & 58. Worse come to worse, might even kope 7500D from BRBP to put on 25 or 58.

I believe SBS Transit will find a way. You will get to know on 26th March.
there's a row of Wrights in amdep that are not deployed yet... and having 2 WABs above the min needed is not an excuse to redeploy the bus just because that service is going WAB next week. the service have its own wab blocks to be filled in. For this case, 59 WABs are deployed with a WAB bus and non-WABs... are the 9181 9210 9302 9806Originally posted by SBS 9631X:Don't understand why 197 is not included even though it hit the min quota the same time as 168 did.

Not sure whether SMRT service 171 will be affected as well.

Oh oh I didn't know about further new Wrights in AMDEP other than the 5 initially. So just saying from the logical point of view, don't have to shoot me.
