Btw, is 235 the longest feeder in toa payoh now?
Yeah, somehow i think that out of the 4 buses, 1 or 2 might be S Shift bus.
In terms on milage, i think 235 or 238 should be the longest. At most is 0.2km difference. 232 is not that far away from 238.

No meh? I frequently see a 231G/W bus picking up passengers at TPY interchange when the previous bus arrive back at the interchange. So a full trip takes slightly less than 15 mins, right?

I had said that is my opinion, though I have a feeling that your opinion could be right.

I think he might have taken the route of 232 to compare with 231's new route.

From the route between Toa Payoh to Lor 2 Toa Payoh (235's route) and vice versa, the total should take roughly 6.2km and adding up the Toa Payoh Rise sector, it should match or be more than the length of the whole 238's route.

It should be a loop service or a peak hour one-directional (like the former Express services).

I believe there's a reason he did not put in the midnight timings.
And I believe because MacPherson MRT is nearer to Aljunied, they cut the route to loop at MacPherson MRT instead.

Nah..
It's more because of some new travelling pattern w/ the CCL

SBST service 235 from interchange to caldecott MRT station distance is abit too long. I perfer 231 link to caldecott station from Toa Payoh Hub. If LTA can link 231 to there the station will be better. 231 take about 6 bus stop compare to 235 which is longer. If possible sbst should had 231 and 235 together going to that station. Then the G and W plate will not be remove from 231. There is a possible of 238 can link to that station. And SBST should pull one trunk service like 145 or 139 to pass there to interchange.

Like this people at Balestier Rd would end up having no bus to get to the compass line station...
The thing is trying to maximise the coverage for Toa Payoh New Town.
I've said, double looping service is not advisable these days, even Transitlink guide can't even properly differentiate Sv 155's Macpherson Estate bus stop info board..
The thing is, it does not mean just because of a under-used CCL station, buses like 139 or 145 has to go there at all cost...
Blame it on Yeo Cheow Tong's CCL plan that ended up having lowly utilised CCL in the name of replacing buses...
in the first place, who would want to go to caldecott station from toa payoh interchange when there are many other choices available?Originally posted by wsy1234:SBST service 235 from interchange to caldecott MRT station distance is abit too long. Can you see what is going to become to 231 if it plies Caldecott MRT? It has to call at the same bus stop in both direction. 238 is looping at Braddell Rd, isn't it even further if it calls at Caldecott MRT? And have you spare a thought for the residents at Balestier Rd? The residents need to get to anywhere very fast, calling at Caldecott MRT is a surely waste of time. Even me myself take 139 usually to visit my relatives, it a waste of sources if you make 139 call at Caldecott.
Originally posted by service_238:in the first place, who would want to go to caldecott station from toa payoh interchange when there are many other choices available?
That's right, the main point is to make a choice for Lor 2, 3 & 5 Toa Payoh residents to have a choice whether to go to Caldecott MRT or Toa Payoh MRT.
Seriously how to link up Lor 8 to Caldecott without exiting the HDB new town boundary???

It's seriously a short leg into Caldecott MRT Stn...
What double calling issue? It's G/W plate arrangement.
Those at Balestier Rd alrdy has 130 to Caldecott.
