Today got 1 EWL WB train.. hoh seh...
At Buona Vista, dwell time was abt 3 - 4 sec.. Dover best, buzzer activated before door could barely open.
Jurong East, dwell time pretty short... Ppl haven't finished boarding.
Need me to add how long MTR trains could call at stations?
Ytd say how Sv 61 got 'improvement', today buzzer activated before train door could even open fully?
shorter door time to compensate for slower travel times on certain stretches.. makes sense?Originally posted by sbst275:Today got 1 EWL WB train.. hoh seh...

It's actually better this way than to wait for people to squeeze in , and still cannot fit in attempt to squeeze and waste time.
I love the way the NEL works, 18-20 secs and regardless of whether you board the train or exit the train, the door closes and never opens back. This is both on peak and non peak periods
It makes you move faster ! then to relax and stroll in and out of the train ..
SMRT pamper commutters for too long already, leave train doors open for a minute , etc at stations like JE , etc .. delay and waste time. People just dont give up when they know they cant squeeze in.

NEL's case is all because of what if... There's PIW happened to be boarding/ alighting? I guess that's why CCL's dwell time got adjusted later on.
SMRT's problem I believe is too much of the connecting train must be readily available at platform nonsense. Sometimes they could rush commuters at stations like Chinese Garden only to wait for 70 sec at Jurong East for the NSL train to arrive.
SMRT is not pampering ppl, it's creating a hazardous ops env... Reminds me of days back at Expo.. Took the train, when it arr TNM, ppl rushing to the WB platform when the buzzer and flashing light was alrdy up.. TO dare not close door.. Rear train was 1 min behind.
Some commuters complain dun have to be scared of.. Like tis gotta accommodate for each n every complain to no end..

its annoying for NEL that door so slow to close and waste time only
I think Tanah Merah spotting was on 15 Dec...
The WB train was alrdy signalling that train door is closing before the CGA shuttle's door opened...
Ppl ended up rushed... Ended up turnaround time was like 1 min.
might as well close Dover station..
Save time of the ceremonial stopping.
The problem is appearing again...
Door open for 3 sec, the buzzer activated le... 2nd buzzer activated immediately as ppl still alighting...
I saw from my boarding stn next train 4 mins.. to become no display by the 3rd station...
Like this TO want us to take all the way to Marina Bay right?
Sometimes the TOs should be made to taste as a commuter being rushed by themselves... See if they want to do it again or not...
Oh yah... The dwell time under Rear Adm Kwek... SPH whacked the whole passenger safety issue.
SMRT man-powered trains very chiong one lah...
very often, i experience the door closing announcement announced b4 i even stepped into the train. and i was the first to board eh!
And then, here goes the whole thing:
Door opens - 5 ppl come out (1 sec) - first person go in (half a sec) - DING DONG DOORS ARE CLOSING - Door closes (dwell time estimated 3.5 sec) - train leaves 1/9 of a sec after door closes.
usuallly the above happens to C751B trains.
