I hopw they should. SBS Transit has so much more extra buses to utilise on a Sunday, and not to mention the significant number of Bus Captains who know how to ply the eastern side of the East West Line, since the press release said the bus bridging will run parallel to the tracks.
If SMRT uses its own fleet only, i bet more buses will end up getting lost once they hit the Eastern side.

Second your thoughts. Hopefully SMRT can humbly rope in SBST to help especially for the eastern/southern sectors to relieve the workload of SMRT's AMDEP :)
So what time can we start entering the stations?
Some people still need to go work on sundays you know.
4 days of free bridging services - you know another fare hike isn't far away.

I'm not bothering too much about whether SMRT can cope or not. It's their own problem they created in the first place, they should be able to work things out themselves. I'm more concerned with the bus bridging services getting lost somewhere while travelling from Pasir Ris all the way to Joo Koon.
You know, travelling parallel to the tracks as claimed by them is easier said than done. Some tracks are on the opposite side of the road, and some are even under huge grass hills & buildings (think Kallang to CBD). How to run parallel?
For sure some of their drivers will be lost somewhere, they did not have any practices at all for such an "emergency". Much worse since most of the SMRT drivers are based in the West, so how can we expect them to know which road is which road just by the Control Centre telling them the name of the road to turn to?
Expect to see some more embarassment by them tomorrow, stay tuned.
Some SMRT bridging ended up plying Stevens Rd today

well if they think they can manage the entire situation themselves and eventually screw up again, they have no one to blame except themselves.
