Did anyone went to Woodlands Regional Interchange from 4.30pm onwards? There seems to be many buses unable to go into the interchange, thus resulting a jam. Several buses affected that time: TIB482A, SBS9429P (the one I'm in), TIB1190K, TIB868X, etc.
I don't have a chance to understand what happened, can anyone who was also there fill in the details please?
It is still jammed at about 540pm when i was there. ppl alight the bus and walk down to the int. there does not seem to be any accident at the bus park, so i also do not have any idea why...

I think someone should mail to SMRT and ask them why this happened.
an incident at the bus park. no need email SMRT.
Why leh?
I heard is all to do with the alighting bay kena chop for parking...
SMRT..
i prefer to think i was there when the incident just happened.
i was on 963 entering the int. an O405 had reversed and the rear right wheel had went all the way back to the kerb. but didnt mount. i prefer to think that now, the bus couldnt move forward otherwise the back bumper would hit the kerb and rip off the bumper.
alighting from the bus and going over to 161/168 side, there were two rows of buses going into parking but other SLs were on hand not to let the buses go into the bus park. some rigid buses at the parking bay were already going in opposite direction(reverse and turn right, head out towards 168/187/960 berth, turn right to proper direction after SL lounge to head for boarding activities).
my 168 Wright had to use the other boarding berths and maneuver to avoid the two rows of buses queueing to head for parking.
my 168 was already 17mins late when boarding commenced. it took another 13mins to turnaround and reach the 1st busstop outside. On Ground level, passengers were alighting on the traffic island where 161/168 turns left and go down the slope into the int. every passenger alighted there.
there were 4 168s together heading to Bedok. 7663 9404 9308 9632. suspect 9308 and 9632 alight passengers and str8away board passengers back to bedok. no break.
No pictures and no rego of O405 that got stuck. took just one bus to paralyse the entire interchange.
Why on earth a bus would need to reverse at boarding/ alighting bay???
Unless it's obvious trying to manovere for parking or sort. Or trying to overtake a bendy from the ahead boarding berth.
WRI is just chaotic these days.
They even created parking lots for bendies at the side of the road near the 161/168 berth which only served to create more woes and chaos.
I watched one line of buses waiting patiently for an L plate bus attempt to slowly clear the parked bendies and buses queueing up to leave WRI at the left turn. *facepalm*
Lagi unhelpful is the parking at alighting-bay.

u have mention parking bay as well... no problem.
the sv963 bus should have just move forward and whack its bumper off.. the most replace a new one only... a lot of the SMRT buses alway have damage bumper also..

later ppl take photo and stomp why 4 buses of same services travelling together along SLE/TPE... 9632 is S shift, might be just starting its shift, cos it alway reach WDL at around 8pm and off service after that...

LTA and SMRT should just ban and stop the use of bendy buses. They jam and clog up every place they go, bus stops, bus interchanges, bus depots, busy roads, small roads, etc.
Just imagine this incident is caused by a bendy bus that covers the whole lanes across the road in Woodlands interchange, or a bus reversing trying to get out of the berth because a bendy bus blocked its way but instead hit another incoming bus behind, imagine how long the queue be, espeically when there are many bendy buses in the queues.
Not just Woodlands, Yishun interchange also will experience long queues of bendy buses if one of them got stuck in the alighting berth, and the bus stops along Yishun Ave 2 just outside Northpoint, just imagine how many people are late for work because of these long queues of bendy buses...

It is of course their meal times, it is almost 5-6pm at that time.

I believe it can be 961 too.
I agree.
Bendies are a real pain.
But then SMRT refuses to do anything about DDs.
So I thank my lucky stars I live in SBST area.
I think LTA also using planning to kill them off..
You see even Bedok Temp BI dun have bendy lot for 854
BNL's 2 bendy lot removed to let 4x SBS 179 to park
The latter case should tell SMRT how ting tei bendies are...
